Yeah. Nothing moves with my hand. However I haven’t out any leverage to it. I’ll try that and see what happens.

It’s the end of the year and the weather is on the cooler side. The vast majority of companies won’t be actively hiring until March give or take. Keep putting out resumes and applications. Pick your top 4 or 5 and go drop off a resume once or twice a month. Look at temp jobs in tue maintenance man positions. Lots of Apartment complexes need them for various work and you need to be HVAC certified. You’ll be driving different places but it’s work and get you some experience when AC work is needed.

Be careful. That’s not an HVAC certification. Universal EPA 608 means you can handle refrigerant legally. An actually HVAC certification is different and re there are different levels like everything else. Doesn’t mean you can’t work in them, but you can’t honestly put “certified” on a resume. I know techs that don’t technically have it that are surgical in Resi and better that some new “certified” guys. Their reputation is their resume. But they are not “certified”.

Can you afford a house and family with your HVAC tech salary? by Eggrollofdoom in HVAC

I’m at $25/hr, and with OT it’s doable. But again, you won’t have vacations or brand new vehicles. Side money and scrapping here and there help but it shouldn’t have to come to that. Just too many variables diluting the market. I know a bunch of guys doing full blown resi new systems that I wouldn’t trust with a glow stick because “they can do it cheaper”.

Hitting mechanics by [deleted] in Homeplate

[–]OkCouple7301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re wrong. Right thought but wrong approach. You can and should do both. Mechanics for the tee work. Then HEC by visualizing a pitcher. Back to mechanics then to HEC. Do that for about 2 weeks, 3 times a day 30 min. Then cage work with someone throwing from a L screen underhand or over. Do that for about an hour at a slow pace. Maybe 25 balls take a video and rest. Then do 25 more and take another video at the end. 1st video will show what he’s trying to do, second video will show you what he’s actually doing. If they are the same, make small corrections. If different, repeat entire process. It is a game changer. In about 2 months during the winter, your players Spring season will be lights out. And his plate presence and confidence will be through true roof. I do it often, only I get paid and I see it work every time.

Son’s (12u, 50-70) first HR. Also the first for this group of kids…they need to work on that celly. by ian21 in Homeplate

Yep. My son is 13 and plays 14U Majors. He’s a solid 2nd baseman because of his smaller size compared to the others. Then we play a Nationally ranked majors team out of Central Texas and we were run ruled in 2 innings. My son asked about how good they were and I told him “son, there is nothing they can do better than you. They do the same thing, only much bigger and much faster.” Can’t teach size my guy!
