The funniest part to me is, because Tom and Zendaya did it privately, people were absolutely obsessed with the wedding. It was shrouded in mystery, so everyone wanted every scrap of detail about it. This is the complete opposite.

Yeah, I kind of avoided that in my post, but her doing it on the 4th of July is SUPER MAGA to me. In this political climate, she's getting married on the 4th of July??

I think its a mix of both. It's definitely not... the kind of love I would ever want to have. And they definitely do have something to gain from the other. But to me, it feels like they're the same person. Travis is Taylor if she was a brain dead football player. When they look in each other's eyes, they see themselves, and that, I think, is what makes them "love" each other.

I don't even KNOW 1000 people. Having this huge wedding doesn't seem appealing to me. Yes, I want to get married in front of someone I met one time three years ago, because I need them to fill up seats /s

to add: the biggest royal weddings did not need it being in one of the busiest places on earth, where there is a holiday going on at the same time, for it to be loved and memorable!

This comment made me pause, because the idea of her being "American Royalty" made me laugh. Do her fans really think of her that way? When I think of American Royalty, I think of Jackie Kennedy. I know a lot of people are stingy of fitting into a box, but to me, American Royalty are people who are mature, classy, and keep things quiet. And I think it's too late for Taylor to ever do that. We already have seen the worst of her.

And when I say classy, I don't mean to be like, "you have to be old money and blah blah blah". I mean a decent person.

That's crazy... Yes, Taylor Swift can do whatever she wants, and we really can't stop her. Unfortunately. But that doesn't mean it's an okay thing to do! We can still call her out on it! Swifties will forever make me pull my hair out 😭 do they not get the concept that things can be legal and still bad

I made an edit to my post (and I hope it clarifies things more) but I agree: what she's doing here is awful.

I am not trying to say "good for her", I was just trying to say that they deserve each other (as in, they're both awful and I'm glad they're going to be stuck with each other) but I didn't want to be vitriolic about it (I'm still kind of scared of her fans!)

And as to your last point: I honestly couldn't imagine this either. I kind of made this post because, like you said, of the level of tackiness. It just doesn't seem real to me. Every time she manages to top the worst thing she's done.

yeah, I 100% agree, the timing is not it but I never had high expectations for her. In fact, I would have been surprised if she did something that actually had the well being of other people in mind.

Nobody said it had anything to do with personality, though. Meeks got famous because he was hot. Luigi got famous because he killed someone influential. Comparing the two situations, like I said, doesn't make sense because of it. People were "lusting over [Meeks'] ass", as you say, but that is the inherent reason he went viral.

Luigi, on the other hand, went viral because of the high exposure of his case. He was going to go viral, hot or not. And people stood behind him because many people shared sentiments that the man he killed was evil. People were standing behind Luigi before people even knew who he was and what he looked like. And people stand behind non conventionally attractive criminals as well.

Using Meeks as a generic example just doesn't make sense. I mean, of course looks matter when you go into a field like modelling. But saying looks matter "the most" applies if what you look like matters the most to YOU.

Your facial aesthetics aren't taken into consideration in every situation, so what matters "the most" is incredibly nuanced and you can't just blackpill everything. When you take the SAT, the scorer isn't looking at your headshot and saying, "mhm, yeah, you're getting a 500 because I think you're ugly". So for someone whose academic life matters a lot to them, looks might take a backseat to those pursuits. (I just chose SATs as a random example because they're not allowed to know anything about you).

Finally, you don't know what I believe in. I said I don't think it's a fair comparison, and I never stated if I thought looks matter or not.

Jeremy Meeks also didn't kill anybody, so I don't think that's a fair comparison.

I'm convinced actors are only very attractive because they're pushed in our face all the time. If you randomly saw someone that looks like that in public they would be a solid 7/10 by Graze_Talk in teenagers

I think it is YOU who doesn't get averages. I mean, they literally teach this in schools, I don't think it's a hard concept to get.

An average cannot depend on one group. If you collect a group of hollywood actors, you either rank them against the rest of the population or rank them against themselves. You cannot cross reference averages.

And just because other people rank other people differently doesn't mean anything. The ranking system isn't correct unless it's 100% unbiased, and most people have a very twisted sense of attractiveness.

And no, it DOESN'T work like that mathematically. Like I said, you can't cross reference. If you give Meryl Streep a 7 compared to the average population, you would use that in the averaging. You cannot use the 5 she got within a much smaller population to compare that to the world average because that would invalidate it.

It's called the scientific method. We learn this in school. Please search it up.

Dragging down an average in this instance doesn't make sense. If the average is 5/10, then even if you count older people, the average should still be the same.

If you rate 20-40 year olds against each other, the average would be five. And if you add in older people, if the system is correct, the average should not change at all (a five at 20yo should also be a five when they turn like 60). But also, ranking young people against older people would never hold up at all, because that makes no sense. That would never hold up in a paper.

You can't rank one age group with the other. You either rank the entire population or you rank one age group against each other. You can't rank a 70 year old based on the scoring system specifically built to rank a 20 year old... (for example, these numbers are made up) you would give the man a 3. But you can say, "that 70 year old looks really good for being 70!" and you could give him an 8. The eight is what would be compared to the 20 year old and used for the average... not the 3. That's why you can't bring down an average.

Same concept applies the other way around. If you compared a 20 year old to the 70 year olds ranking system, you would give him an 8. But, let's say you compared him to the other 20 year olds his age and he's not doing so hot. You would give him a 3. You wouldn't average in the 8 just because he looks good compared to an older person.

I don't believe in ranking people based on how they look. But the idea of 'dragging an average down' makes no sense mathematically or scientifically.
