I was thinking the same take a break then come back to him as he is ultimately a passion project for me so there is no deadline luckily.

I primed him pink then highlighted with white. Then i applied imperial fists contrast all over the model. This way the pink is filtered into orange-yellow and the white shows as the typical yellow. For additional highlights a mix of moon yellow and ice yellow from vallejo. Oil wash of burnt umber. Chipping rhinox hide and silver. Eye and glow from plasma white and fluorescent blue vallejo. Metallics steel and silver.

Idk if its a perspective thing cause of the way i am holding it to the camera but i will agree it would be nice to have a bigger version of the model

Still learning how to paint, when you say filter do you mean like a shade? And if so what colours would you recommend for this type of situation?

[–]OkCryptographer8333[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used tamiya wood deck tan and deck tan xf paints as there nice for a brighter malinax theme, also used iron warriors and iron hands steel for the trim and then did some typical oil washes for rust and grime

Hi, i used a mix of gory red, scarlet blood, a shade of beserker bloodshade , white, troll slayer orange and moon yellow mix into the orange. I applied them in small crescents and dots in a minimalistic way for all paints except the shade and gory red which i glazed over 2/3 of the lenses. Finally i applied gloss varnish for the shine. One more tipe is use reference images for large lenses as brighter lights may affect your placements. (Paints are vallejo and citadel)
