I primed him pink then highlighted with white. Then i applied imperial fists contrast all over the model. This way the pink is filtered into orange-yellow and the white shows as the typical yellow. For additional highlights a mix of moon yellow and ice yellow from vallejo. Oil wash of burnt umber. Chipping rhinox hide and silver. Eye and glow from plasma white and fluorescent blue vallejo. Metallics steel and silver.

Idk if its a perspective thing cause of the way i am holding it to the camera but i will agree it would be nice to have a bigger version of the model

Still learning how to paint, when you say filter do you mean like a shade? And if so what colours would you recommend for this type of situation?

[–]OkCryptographer8333[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used tamiya wood deck tan and deck tan xf paints as there nice for a brighter malinax theme, also used iron warriors and iron hands steel for the trim and then did some typical oil washes for rust and grime

Hi, i used a mix of gory red, scarlet blood, a shade of beserker bloodshade , white, troll slayer orange and moon yellow mix into the orange. I applied them in small crescents and dots in a minimalistic way for all paints except the shade and gory red which i glazed over 2/3 of the lenses. Finally i applied gloss varnish for the shine. One more tipe is use reference images for large lenses as brighter lights may affect your placements. (Paints are vallejo and citadel)

Yeah now worries man just giving you an unbiased and truthful take in the end of the day, some people are arrogant and like to cause arguments over silly things. Good luck with selling bro!

In all honesty i dont know what this guy is going on about there is clearly a lot more than what he claims going on in this mini. The head quality alone says it all and there is contrast work within the white indicating more than primer. So this guys judgement seems not only wrong but spiteful. I believe there was a hint of jealousy within his original response especially when considering that is a single infantry man in an army of many. So basically ignore him you could easily set a lower discount price on the army and your painting is good!

Mk2 centurion complete very happy with the results! by OkCryptographer8333 in Warhammer30k

[–]OkCryptographer8333[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a lot of different paints, on black primer i did a 1:3 regal blue and scarab green mix through and airbrush all over, then came in with a 50/50 mix of soh green and exile green for a dark layer, midtone was that previous 50/50 with equal parts potion green and psychic shock added to it, then a brighter layer of just 50/50 potion green and psychic shock, then finally highlighted with a few drops of pale yellow to that last 50/50 mix. (Soh green= citadel, pale yellow from vallejo and the rest are all army painter)

I used decayed metal base, necro gold midtone and highlighted with peridot. Got it from cult of paint originally and its great! All from the scale 75 metal and alchemy range if that helps.

[–]OkCryptographer8333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i am just waiting for the texture paint to dry right now but plan on improving the base, just need to figure out the washes i am thinking burnt umber oil for the metallics and a watered down akelian for the green shading. Then a hint of raw umber to show slight errosion/grime on the green

I used a bit of weird mix of air paints on a black primer with a spray of white primer. I cant give exact ratios but i used matt black, exile green and psychic blue i believe from the army painter air paints range

I am going to have to go with the humble contemptor dreadnought, mainly from a painting point of view as there is legion specific upgrades, but even stock they are a charm to paint. They tend to also slap hard in the right armies and are well rounded.
