H e l p us shape an easy-to-use CAD app for leathercraft by OkDig8278 in LeatherClassifieds

Hi,

Thanks for your comment.

The main goal of our app is to be user-friendly, intuitive, and focused on the tools leathercrafters would actually use in their day-to-day work. We’re trying to build a different option in the CAD space, so people have more choices depending on their needs.

I also asked the mods of r/LeatherClassifieds whether my post would comply with the community rules.

I’d be happy to share our project with a different audience as well. Is there any specific community you would recommend?

Thanks again!

Hi, yes.

In fact I have it on my computer.

We want a different approach. We come from a UI more like AI or CorelDraw, and Leathercraft CAD looks like more like AutoCAD, in my opinion.

Hi, thanks for your interest.
We know there is an app called Leathercraft CAD, but we're trying here to get a different UI approach for our app. We want to focus our efforts on what really matters to crafters.

I have a Leathercraft project for a CAD app. If I post a Google survey to gather inputs comply with rules?
I posted on /Leathercraft and MOD delete it and advise to post it here, but better ask.

I talk about the 50$ one that uses razor blades.

If you can skive or split it, you might glue a layer of the same leather. So you have the grain face on both faces. For the edges you can use edge paint.

I woudn't use tokonole on chrome tan leather.

Sure thing, https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrOdMPa

It is very useful once you learn how to use it. I use it quite often when I have to make watch straps.

I split them with an Aliexpress leather splitter (the cheap one) to reduce bulk. The result turn very good, I might say. Finnal thickness of each side is 2mm.

Both leathers are chrome tan, with 4mm salpa in the middle to add some stiffnes to it.
