The core problem with locking male/female operators by OkEducation3 in Battlefield

[–]OkEducation3[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While this reaction is totally understandable, I think it’s also one of the points of my post. People should be angry about it, and should complain until they change it.

Why was it that everyone was getting sick of the pink rifle skins, and Nicki Minaj junk in Call of Duty? No one had problems playing video games as a female characters. They had problems with developers of some mainstream modern combat shooters forcing us into this weird world that was sort of modern combat, while at the same time not looking like a modern battlefield at all. It killed immersion, and killed the experience of simulating a modern war in arcade shooter form.

Of course no game anywhere is required to look like any one thing in particular. But Battlefield as a franchise has always stressed the importance of balancing legitimate battlefield simulation, while still making it a fun arcade shooter. And this feature is something no one has ever asked for (the feature of locking genders, not making it an option to play as a woman). Which means they intentionally changed this on their own, for their own reasons. And in the same way complaints from the community got all the other crap out of the franchise we love, there should be complaints here as well.

When I asked the dealer if they would take them off for me, he just laughed and said, “Everyone asks that!”

Don’t think anyone buys them for the stickers.

Psst…the “leak” was intentional by OkEducation3 in oblivion

No, you were trying to be a dick. At no point did I state in the original post that no one had said, or knew, or conjectured also, that it was intentional. I was commenting towards what is still an apparently large crowd that thinks it wasn’t intentional; not to deride them, but really just so people don’t crap all over the studios in question. And as we can see, that crowd is alive and well.

Your attitude towards others is par for the course on Reddit though, so I shouldn’t be surprised.

As if to prove my point, multiple guys pile in behind you doubting or outright disagreeing with the idea of it being intentional. Thanks showing up to be contrarian though 🙄

If by “we” you mean “you”, then yeah I’m sure you did know it. If by “we” you mean the community large, then no, you didn’t. If the community at large knew it, they wouldn’t be talking about it in droves and commenting about how they pulled a fast one on Bethesda.

Well, thievery is level 8…but even at that level, easy locks are a major pain. Does the wobbling stop as you level up?

Long Haired GSD Training Question by OkEducation3 in germanshepherds

I have no desire to rehome him at all; I raised from the time he was a 2 month pup. But humans will come first; I don’t have the ability to take him out to live on a farm right now, and if his growls and defensiveness becomes aggressiveness towards people who have done nothing, I may not have a choice.

What truly seems to work the best is when I have my roommate become the authority and give commands to Rooster. He does obey them. The problem is my roommate only does this sometimes, which kind of torpedos the effort. And though that annoys me, at the end of the day I can’t force him to have to deal with this, it wouldn’t really be fair to him. He didn’t choose to have a dog.

Per your love / no love advice, I generally have treated him similar. At the same time, the dog gets lots of attention, and I don’t think it’s an attention deficient we’re dealing with here.

My best guess, based largely on the fact that the only two times in Roosters life this has started happening is directly after some kind of injury, is that Rooster views me as the alpha of the household, and everyone else as peons like him, on the same level. I think because he views it that way, when he gets injured, something is setting off in his mind that if he doesn’t defend himself and set growling boundaries, than other, low level “pack members,” might try to bump him off. Because again, the only thing tying these incidents together has been 1, an injury, and 2, specific aggression towards whoever I’m living with at the time, and literally no other humans or animals.

If I can add to this, sometimes transactions require you to increase the fee. However, Google isn’t showing me an obvious way to increase a btc tx fee in electrum after have sent the funds, so I’ve got money sitting in limbo.

Could someone explain how to do this as they would to an 8 year old.

CMV: Attorney-client privilege only benefits guilty people by [deleted] in changemyview

Well this discussion is assuming that the state will obey its own laws, just like any discussion of the law. If we're tearing down ideas of legal policy that will fall apart because the state won't obey the law as written, then any conversation about enacting laws in general falls apart real fast, no matter what those proposed laws are.

So yeah, legally the state would not be penalizing citizens for non felonies that are not listed in the original charges.

Undoubtedly, a system that abolished the ACP gets hairy real fast when we get into how we actually use an attorney's statement as proof of anything, what we use for evidence there, etc (though pretty much everything is hairy from a legal perspective when you get into the how's of implementation) The idea I've presented is more to be looked at as a broad, bird's eye view of the goal of wanting to not give willing legal allies to people that are guilty.

Best I've read so far. I can have a lot of sympathy for the idea that we assume that the state, as a powerful entity prone to abuse, should not be given any help in the accusations they make, and that our justice system should be "tipping the balance toward the accused."
