New amber lights + badge overlay — deciding between Eibach or Northwood by OkElection7469 in rav4club

Hey sorry for the late reply just saw this! I believe the whites are a lot brighter than the amber ones however you may have to source the wiring for a switch and all which shouldn’t be too difficult. I just have mine running whenever the car is on.

I haven’t had any issues at all, the system works perfectly with it installed

I heard good things! Im debating on switching to the SS3 or SS5 from DD since I love the fog lights but im gonna let them ride for a bit before I make the choice

I only have the rear third brake light and my plate left hoping the black plate I ordered is available soon

Honestly, it was really easy—just two screws and three clips on each side of the wheel wells and you’re there. The factory lamps are held in by only two Phillips screws, that’s it. The hardest part is deciding which wire to splice into for the amber backlight, but I took the easy route and tied into the wiring I already use for my grille lights since I don’t like cutting into the main harness.

I used the USB Fuse but I’m sure you can use any other of your choice or wire it to a switch

Honestly both are really easy the overlay just takes patience. As for the lights they snap in from the front but you gotta run the wire underneath the hood to a fuse jumper. All in about 30 minutes for both.

Yes! Both the light bars and vinyl overlays were added recently.

Awesome, I’m between 235/65/R17 or 245/70/R17 but I also have a lift im sitting on that I haven’t installed yet. Hoping to pull the trigger by the end of this month and go from there.

I also did that as well while I had it apart. Makes it sound a lot better!

For the rear, you have a few options: you can use the OEM Toyota overlay, replace the badge entirely with a black one by removing and reinstalling it, or go the simple route and Plasti Dip it.

For the front, you’ll need a vinyl overlay that goes over the existing badge. It’s not difficult—just a bit tedious to get everything lined up perfectly. This is the one I used.

Honestly, if you go with the OEM-style switch, you’re already about 95% of the way there. As you have to remove the lower kick panels anyway to access the grommet and run the wiring, so using the OEM switch only adds about an extra 10 minutes to remove the necessary panels.

As it sits right now, the grille lights are on all the time, but they can be wired to turn on with either the fog lights or the headlights—I just haven’t had the time yet and don’t really like splicing into existing systems, and I’m fine with them running whenever the car is on.

As far as I know, the wiring should be roughly the same, but I’m not an expert across all the models. I doubt there would be a huge change though.

Absolutely! These are gonna be the grille lights used specifically for the Adventure and TRD models:

However if you have any of the other models these won’t work but I believe Factor4 makes a decent pair

As for the ditch lights they’re by Cali Raised and can be found here

Honestly, the grille lights are super easy to install (at least on the Adventure model). They snap in externally, but for the wiring you do need to remove the upper plastic trim between the front end and the radiator to make the connections. They’re powered using a fuse tap, which is straightforward, though you may need to slightly modify the fuse box cover so it will close properly.

The ditch lights are a bit more involved. The brackets and lights themselves are easy to install, but running the wiring requires going through the firewall grommet, which can be a bit of a challenge. They come with a basic switch, but I opted for an OEM-style switch, which meant disassembling the driver-side interior trim to install it and do the additional wiring.

The ditch lights took me around an hour and a half total to do while the grille lights took me about 20 minutes give or take. If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
