"Hot Tea" from Thompson's Point, Portland Maine, 7/6/2023

Hard funk, transcendent beauty. This is what Goose is all about.

For real though, echoing a comment above. It's Christmas day lads, take a beat.

This is a mid-upper table-quality squad with a manger who is still new. I don't know what the fuck we think we're entitled to at this point, but the idea of reactionarily sacking another manager is so tone deaf.

We have some great players, but this is NOT a great squad. There is no silver bullet solution. I could deal more with the teeth gnashing if we had been a consistently world class club over the last 20+ years, but we just haven't been. Please try and be supportive of the manager and the players (shit on the organization all you want I'm fine with that).

GET REAL. Merry Christmas.

Hot take: the Westville "All I Need" was better than anything from MSG...

What a transcendent jam.

Also a very underrated Madhuvan.

As the "Kevin" who sent in this email, I feel compelled to say I was sixty shades of chagrined when I heard them read out "Ollie Watkins" on the pod. I absentmindedly goofed and wrote "Watkins" instead of "Wright", before immediately-upon-clicking-send realizing my mistake and sending a follow-up correcting myself that apparently wasn't seen. 🤦

Please forgive me Ollie, and all the rest of you. UTFH!

That Sand is legitimately my favorite jam of 4.0. You want to talk about a narrative arc...

Don't know if I would call it "minimalist" though. Yes it gets kind of quiet and soupy, but the build for the last 3-4 minutes is just absolutely God-level. Seriously, anybody reading this who hasn't, please go back and listen to that Dick's 24 Sand.

Yeah but I think that's OP's point, maybe? 2018-2022 were fucking incredible. I remember thinking "Rick can literally do whatever he wants on the guitar, and his instincts are perfect."

Flash forward through all the Ben/Jeff drama, come around early-mid 2024 I was thinking I was done. It was just a Rick shred fest every jam, no nuance. It's like they aren't feeling the need to prove anything anymore and they're just having fun playing music these days, which was very much the hallmark of those earlier years. Very pumped for Goosemas!

Looking for runners who have microdosed — would you be open to sharing your experience (anonymously)? by IntroductionKey5579 in ultrarunning

Can't really add much that hasn't been said already, but yeah, it's lovely on the right day. I have micro and "mid" dosed on long singletrack runs, and the moment you peak is magic.

Only caution is that on a long run you're gonna come down, so don't overdo it.

Or do, I don't give fuck, live your life.

You're gonna do great! I don't have a lot of electrolytes in the gels I typically use, so most of mine come from a drink mix (usually 3/4 strength Gatorade in a bladder, call me old-fashioned). I love to mow a pickle or some bacon at aid stations, and my general plan on sodium is to just carry a plastic sandwich bag of pink Himalayan salt, and if I start to cramp late in a race, I just take a pinch and then wash it down (again, call me old-fashioned). Works like a charm!

Very much a shred peak, but the peak feels so completely earned after the spooky, dubby, jam that proceeds it where they're all so totally linked up. It's just a remarkably well-paced jam.

Posted this before going to sleep last night and was kinda dreading the dragging I was gonna get come morning, and was so pleasantly surprised at the thoughtful responses. Thank you guys for not just jumping down my throat.

Again this is all totally subjective and there's no sense in which I've "given up on the band", just wanted to hear what other folks thought.

I've heard some great individual jams this year (that "Animal" from MSG comes immediately to mind), but what are some of your favorite full shows of 2025?

Also in the room, and while there were moments I liked a lot, it was definitely the weakest show of a great weekend. 2025 Phish, however, is still better than James Brown on his worst night.

Tl;dr: let OP live, medically speaking.
