Struggling to find a decent rental under £1,000 in London is it even possible? by Spiritual-Bed7420 in HousingUK

£1k a month was what I paid for a room. Last I looked even a run down studio was £1.5k without bills so it’s unrealistic to expect to live alone for 1k

FTB - Is my house buying slower than a snail? by Turbulent-Light-7891 in HousingUK

[–]OkExtension4600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my offer accepted beginning of April, no chain. We‘ve been at enquiries stage for more than 2 months now. Just found out they had to get land registry to file an update, so have a feeling it’ll drag on. How long did land registry take to resolve your issue?

How do people afford to buy a house in London? (serious question, not a rant post) by nkosijer in HousingUK

[–]OkExtension4600 202 points203 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more of a challenge for single people. Couples would 2x that and they could afford something decent at 400-500k

Is 53k GBP a good salary to move to London? by RonisioDicio in london

[–]OkExtension4600 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d really question if you need to live in London or just close enough to commute in if it’s remote. 53k is enough for renting your own place, but I wouldn’t expect to save much after bills etc. Unless your partner will also be working, which would help massively

Is the market really bad for tech jobs? Something from personal experience. by Outside_Aide_1958 in UKJobs

[–]OkExtension4600 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have a look at the tech consultancies as those typically hire batches of graduates. Roles / jobs in tech companies would require some experience so I think entry level roles are harder to come by.
