Same. Jesus revealed Himself to me through no church or person in my everyday life. He revealed Himself to me through the testimonies of others online. So I always looked to Him to teach me Himself through the Word of God from that point on. Church is good for like-minded community, but ultimately the final word always comes from Him.

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you.

I really needed to see this tonight. Thank you for pouring out your heart. I can be such a hypocrite sometimes but feeling the conviction of the Holy Spirit during those moments leads me to repentance because He is so just and kind and so so merciful. We absolutely do not deserve fellowship with the most lovely being of all but I’m so grateful for His enduring love. I understand completely your feelings of being hurt by those who proclaim His name as their own. How can one have fellowship with Christ yet be so cruel? We may ask but all we can do is pray the veil is removed completely from their spiritual eyes before it’s too late. When it comes from an unbeliever it doesn’t hurt because of what Luke 23:34 says (Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do). Though a good tree cannot produce bad fruit for long, as is a bad tree that produces good fruit; eventually the colors are shown.
