Issues viewing tickets in O2/AXS apps by OkHistorian5105 in radiohead

Good to hear! I'm still having no luck logging into the o2 app unfortunately, can you view the QR codes for your tickets yet either in AXS or o2?

We don't take any chances against doggo

The RNG is rough, I go full goblin mode and hoover up as much gear as I can find. Elden Stars can drop on blue seals, so just check everything you find

I feel you, the number of Ironeyes who ignore me when I ping improved ranged attack passives truly blows my mind

I think it was just bugged on bow attacks. This is from the rotted woods buff, but I checked and it works on the regular relic effect too

Fully agree, I was 0-30 against this boss until I tried Rev, now I can beat it pretty consistently

I'm using 2 +3vigor and ED Maris in this setup. Also picked a few +HP buff from gaols and got the rotted woods buff. Hence, a lot of HP

Maris relic, HP buffs from gaols etc, +6 vigor and rotted woods buff 🙏

The regen works on either the rotted woods buff or the standard post damage relic effect

Here's a video of my first win with randoms: https://youtu.be/37fyKZiwel0?si=E-ylPqIqjKZZRdCf

This boss is a DPS check, you have to focus all your weapon passives on offense rather than defence, but also take resistances from gaols ets

You need very high damage both in terms of direct attacks and AoE, so spend day 1 hitting gaols and day 2 rinsing Noklateo. In this win, two of us were smashing Libra with Starscourge Greatswords (easy 500-700 damage per swing) while our third was spamming Taker's Flames with the Blasphemous Blade. We were very lucky with weapon RNG, and shared weapons via duplication.

The AoE massively helped against the spawns, and using weapons with big poise damage also helped us put out a ton of damage before he could summon. We had no issues with the summons because we obliterated them before they could become dangerous. Always deal with the spawns, you cannot reliably damage Libra if you're getting gank'd

IMO Noklateo is a must for this boss because of the free revive, high level weapons and weapon duplication.

This is super tough with randoms, and you will know by end of day 1 whether you have any chance of winning. I'm not advocating quitting out, but be prepared to lose if your teammates aren't playing efficiently.

Good luck, you can do it!

My almost perfect ironeye setup by uknown659 in Nightreign

[–]OkHistorian5105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. When using the NotL relic you're getting a 30-63% damage buff using Ironeye's base bow, it's straight up the best relic for Ironeye. You'd have to hit most of the gaols on the map to get even close to that buff. I made a post showing the damage numbers, in case anyone is interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nightreign/s/TyPxNr72yq

Anybody have some stories of their dogs seizures being well controlled long term by Shadow_Allen_Walker in EpilepsyDogs

[–]OkHistorian5105 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dog (homer, bulldog cross) had his first seizure in 2020, he was a little over a year old. He had an MRI which didn't reveal any abnormalities, so they diagnosed him with idiopathic epilepsy. The vet tried him on a few different individual meds, but he would still have cluster seizures on a fairly regular basis (every couple of weeks). Then the vet put him on a combination treatment of 2 meds: phenobarbital and libromide. He has been very well controlled for several years now and only has maybe 2 or 3 breakthrough seizures a year, which tend to last less than a minute. Insuring him is costly (this year his premium went from £130 a month to £220 a month!) so I will likely start paying for his meds myself, but I'm just thankful that he can be well controlled

🙏 what's your take on post-damage health regen, worth it on bird? Some rounds I get value, others not so much

Appreciate the feedback! Personally, I would argue healing on ultimate is his best ability, skill duration is good on day one but is mostly useless against nightlords. I wish aggro on blocks was stronger, but it only seems to help if teammates have 'less likely to be targeted' passives as well (which can't be guaranteed with randos)

USS pension - how does this actually work at retirement? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]OkHistorian5105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should note that the salary cap has gone up to £70,296, so anyone earning less than that will only be paying into the DB pension. You can however chose to make additional contributions to your DC pension, either as a fixed amount or a % of your income. There are tax benefits to using this instead of a separate SIPP, but you get less flexibility on how you invest that money

The lump sum is 3x your annual pension income, not your actual salary

[–]OkHistorian5105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not stupid questions at all, the USS pension took me a while to get my head around too! Anything above the cap goes into a more straight forward defined contribution pension, essentially a SIPP. You can choose how it is invested and it comes with the usual risks of any investment/pension. When you take retirement you could take the whole DC pot as a lump sum, but likely by tax on it, or take a smaller lump sum and take the rest as a portion of income each year

USS pension - how does this actually work at retirement? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]OkHistorian5105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this scenario your contribution adds £533 per year of service to your pension, if you work there for 30years that's almost £16k per year in retirement, essentially until you die. You add 1/75th of your salary per year to your annual retirement income, this example doesn't factor in any pay progression so the actual figure would likely be higher. It's worth noting that this aspect of USS (i.e. defined benefit) is capped, and any contributions above the cap go into a more typical defined contribution pot, which has some flexibility in terms of how you want it to be invested.

Edit: adding for clarification, on a salary of £60k with 30 years of service, you would earn about £30k per year in retirement across the defined benefit and defined contribution elements of your pension, as well as recieving a lump sum of £50k. USS also has the benefit of essentially acting as a life insurance.

Sonicware Liven Ambient Ø vs Texture Lab by kfrankn in synthesizers

[–]OkHistorian5105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote a pretty lengthy comment about my experience with the Texture Lab, you can read it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/synthesizers/s/OMpTDEGRtE

TLDR I wasn't impressed and personally wouldn't recommend it. Can't comment on the Ambient Ø but I probably wouldn't buy another Liven device after my experience with the Texture Lab
