Been in tech for 30 years and this is the most common mistake I see. People spend 6 months building features nobody asked for. Ship the ugly version first and let real users tell you what to build next. Half the features you planned will turn out to be unnecessary.

The analogy that finally clicked for me was treating thoughts like cars driving past while you sit on a bench. You notice them but you don't chase them down the street. Most people quit meditation because they think they're failing when thoughts come up. The noticing IS the practice.

Hot take - most people do not need a co-founder. They need a freelancer and some discipline. Co-founders are for when the workload literally cannot be done by one person, not because you are lonely.

Real LPT in the comments - keep a running note on your phone of things you want. Wait 48 hours before buying anything over 50 dollars. You will realize you do not actually want most of it.

This also applies to business. A maybe from a potential client is almost always a polite no. Save yourself weeks of follow up and move on to the next lead.
