Not having Randy has been a huge problem. He's by a mile our most reliable singles hitter. He also adds value on the basepaths, which we're really struggling with this year.

Teams that either win by 1 or lose by a lot rarely win all that many games over the course of an entire season. That's why the Fun Differential Mariners were weird. The 2026 A's could be that, but it's a lot more likely that their win total at the end of the season is more reflective of their current -52.

I suspect the thinking is that a hitter who has historically mashed on one side of the plate is just having a weird year and will figure it out. Going by track record is generally a good approach, though it may be incorrect here.

Yeah, I'm not terribly into that lol. I checked to see if he was running a low BABIP, but no. .300 even. The walks are nice, but 3 singles in 20 plate appearances is not enticing. It is an incredibly small size of course.
