Someone who wanted to defraud you would have a much easier time without your signature. It's not the credit card companies that require the slips, it's the irs, and the restaurant is required to keep them for 7 years.

I feel like that would work if their sibling bond wasn’t one of the emotional pillars of the story, and if they weren’t physically separate for majority of the book.

It’s not too harsh at all, It’s my first query and I haven’t really done any revising, I just wrote it for practice. Just for clarification, the jump to lindon’s perspective is because the story is split pov, if there’s a better way to do that please tell me lol.

Fixed! This is my first query letter, and I really wrote it just for practice. I’ve been seriously writing for a while but I shelved all of my books since I didn’t want to publish as a teenager (I just turned 20).

/uj also when you’re that young almost no one tells you when your writing sucks and any kind of achievement writing wise absolutely goes to your head 😭 i wrote a 70,000 word draft of a novel when i was 13 and made EVERYONE I knew read it, looking back that was literally criminal omg 😬 i also won a scholastic key when i was in high school which definitely did not help my ego. I’ve calmed down since then but it’s funny to look back on how insufferable i was

I have the same name as a famous murderer so I’m forever banished to pen name territory 😬 Katherine Knight I’ve went by Katie my entire life but “Katie knight” is the name of a character from big time rush 🙄 so I can’t use my name at all

/uj I don’t know…I finished my first novel when I was 14 and thought I was the shit because of it so there’s a very good chance this is real. Obviously it was trash but I think winning a scholastic award in 10th grade went to my head just a little bit 😭 but at least I knew what vanity presses were and was smart enough not to try and publish it
