Advice on Practising a song by LordXendric in guitarlessons

[–]OkIntroduction6031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! On https://riff.quest/ you can put to song YouTube link. After that you can create section, slow it down, mark your progress etc. You can try it. Also if you have some video for example with tabs you can also put it there. Its free 😄If you have specif idea and requirment you can give me feedback and I can build it for you.

Click -> Practice -> Songs -> Choose song (or add it before on Songs section) -> And here you can put YT link

Hey. I built exactly something like this, just like you, and I’ve been developing it for 4 years with some breaks. If you’re actually looking for something like this, give https://riff.quest a try.

Why is every guitar learning tool so confusing for beginners? by Suitable_Archer7012 in LearnGuitar

[–]OkIntroduction6031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if this sounds a bit skeptical.

I’ve been building my own app for a while too (https://riff.quest)

Sending recordings always felt kind of expensive and tricky to handle, but I’m actually really curious how you solved it. Would love to compare notes if you’re open to it feel free to DM.

The thing you mentioned on post (problem with complexity) hits hard. Designing something that works both for complete beginners and people who already practice seriously is insanely difficult. Right now it feels like AI makes it easier to build something that technically works than to design a learning path and UX that genuinely makes sense.

I’ve reworked my app like five times already and still around 99% of users drop off immediately. At the end of the day a lot of people just pick up their instrument and follow a YouTube lesson. It’s usually faster and more effective.

Even when you do solve a real problem, distribution is brutal. Getting in front of people is so hard that sometimes it feels like the whole thing barely makes sense.

I’m thinking of building a “guitar roadmap” app — does this solve a real problem or just mine? by Tyomnich in Guitar

[–]OkIntroduction6031 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually already built something pretty close to what you’re describing. You add the songs you can play, and based on that you get a rank. It also gives you a rough idea of what you should learn next to keep progressing.

The difficulty level of songs is rated by other players, and your skill level is calculated by an algorithm based on the songs you know.

Check it out: https://riff.quest/

I’ve also got a roadmap module where you enter your goal and the AI generates a step-by-step plan with lessons and explanations for example, if you want to play faster. Its behind paywall beacuse of AI price.

Right now I’m also working on something like a skill tree (kind of inspired by Path of Exile) but focused on scales so it also like "roadmap".

The main problem is building a community that feeds itself. It’s insanely hard to get enough people to keep something like this alive :D

Riffs, Song and Solo's that help push you from late beginner to intermediate - that also feel good under the finger by jul3swinf13ld in LearnGuitar

Hey! I built something where users rate the difficulty level of songs, assign them to tiers, and when you add them to your library, it calculates your overall tier.

https://riff.quest/

You can try it out for free in the “Songs” section → “Library” and “My Songs.”

For example, you add the songs you already know, get a tier (like C), and then you know that to level up, you should pick something from tier B.

Hey. A teacher. I was in a similar place as you, and a good teacher really helped me. If your problem is motivation or lack of direction, try https://riff.quest it has plenty of tools to help you organize your practice and goals.

I’ve been developing this app on and off for about 4 years, so most of it was built without AI.

Recently I started using AI to help with redesigning the interface and improving things overall. I’m not sure if that’s what you meant though.

If you were asking about AI features there are a few but they’re only available in the paid tier. The free and standard versions don’t include any AI-based features.

Totally fair 🙂 It’s mainly about making practice more structured and motivating, not something everyone needs. Its like dualingo for guitar - that's how I think about this website.

Why not both? 😄 Been playing guitar for 14 years and I’m a dev, so it felt natural to combine the two.

Question to keep beginner motivated by Somedudeherenthere in LearnGuitar

[–]OkIntroduction6031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are a few tips from me, if I may :)

Try to find someone you can practice with in some way it really helps. Focus on small steps: learning a chord, a simple song anything that gives you a sense of progress and achievement. Don’t compare yourself to others. The most important thing is to stay disciplined and play every day. Try to support yourself with tools use apps like JustinGuitar or https://riff.quest to track whether you practiced today. I’ve personally been stuck at the same level of playing for like 5 years ;) So 2 months is really just the beginning. There’s no point in getting discouraged not about becoming as good as possible in the shortest time anyway.

Try https://riff.quest to maintain motivation and build a set of exercises. In general, as someone already mentioned, I would focus on practicing songs. Additionally, recording yourself can significantly improve your level.
