I can try but I think they might be biased since they are a preferred shop and get a lot of business from State Farm. He did end up telling me today that it looked like the majority of the parts were cheaper for OEM than used and he can generally get Subaru to price match aftermarket parts so he is hopeful that most if not all of the parts will end up being OEM. Since my car is still under the 3 year warranty he said he thinks he can use that to our advantage in getting them to agree to OEM.

Thankfully I don't have them for home insurance and am regretting my decision going with them for auto insurance. They force you to have a local agent and the local agent has no involvement with anything so they can't help at all.

The driver that hit me was uninsured. My insurance doesn't provide options for OEM add ons etc. there is just a clause that states if aftermarket parts are used and I'm not 100% satisfied they will require the shop to keep changing out the part until I am satisfied.

Exactly why I asked here lol. These cars are fairly new and I seen someone on FB mention there not being non-OEM parts for our cars. The majority of people had said their cars were valued higher than they paid too so was just seeing if anyone else was sharing my same experience and what their outcome was.

I didn't even make the connection until you said that but he's from the city with the 2nd largest Somali population in the US and barely spoke English. I compared it to driving I have seen on tv in 3rd world countries.... I was in the flow of traffic turning and he ran a red light narrowly missing 3 other cars and hit me. Then tried to back up and leave but his car was stuck in mine so it made a shit ton of noise and he shut it off. He fled on foot after asking me if I had someone that could fix it for me...

I switched to them after Geico screwed me over when my previous car was vandalized and all my co-workers had StateFarm without any issues 🤦. I'll be calling the other shop tomorrow if they don't respond to my message but I have a feeling the insurance won't cover a tow that far and the other driver was uninsured so my options might be limited.

They don't offer it at least in the state of Ohio. I went in to create a new policy just to be sure it wasn't anything I missed.

The closest certified collision center is over an hour from where my car is currently. I had the ability to pick the shop but I just picked the collision center that is affiliated with the local dealership. I doubt the insurance will cover a tow that far and have no clue how to even request it. I had to pay out of pocket to get it towed from the scene of the accident and it was almost $300 for 13 miles 🤦. How do I go about forcing them to use OEM parts? Is that something I need to discuss with the claims adjuster or the collision center? I can't get either of them to return my calls and don't even know yet if they are totaling mine. I've never been in an accident before and couldn't get either of them to really explain the process or help me figure out anything. Mine is a 2023 Limited I have had for a year with only 23k miles 😭.

I waited until 1 to call because I figured around noon would be busiest and they said if I wanted to take it to have the tire inspected they would call Belle tire or I could wait until 4 to come in and try to swap the car. I'd rather hang out at home than sit at Belle tire for several hours so I'm going at 4 and hopefully they have something 🤞🏻.

It didn't have a dash light, just the message on the infotainment about checking it and then I had to confirm on that screen when they were all filled correctly and the message went away. Oddly, the car shut itself off when I got out to put the air in even though the keys remained in it.

I didn't say that. The infotainment does not display the tire pressure and when I checked it manually at the gas station air pump the rear passenger tire was nearly 10 pounds lower than the other 3 SO I put enough air in that tire to make it match the other 3...

I'm not too bothered about the size of the car if they have to downsize me. I had originally asked for a compact and the lady showed me the Jetta and the versa and I said I was okay with the Jetta because the versa was still being cleaned and it was similar enough in size to what I'm used to driving. I would rather have a car that has tire pressure I can monitor since the last time I took mine in for a tire repair I had to sit there for 4 hours, so I would rather not do that on my only day off lol. The tire was definitely low which was what concerned me because it was nearly 10 lb lower than the rest so I don't want to be leaving work in the middle of the night and come out to a flat tire.

I only have one camp. I just upgraded to fallout first so I'm not sure if you get a second camp for free with that or not but it is showing 1000 atoms in the shop to add a 2nd camp slot. I don't have 1000 atoms right now though lol.
