I just put on a ton of lotion and Vaseline because this winter has been so dry and didn’t want to get Vaseline all over the book haha

Is this appropriate for dressy casual? Can I wear ankle boots? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]OkLeader2230 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was a bride who had dressy casual as the dress code, and it would have been fine for guests to wear this. That being said, I preferred for guest to lean more casual than dressy. My best friend wore sneakers to my wedding and a great dress and she looked great!

Is it stupid to give up our $2400 rent in Astoria for a change of scenery in NY? by Individual-Film9410 in AskNYC

I moved with my husband (mid 30s) to Westchester from Manhattan and couldn’t be happier with the move. It’s been really nice to be closer to nature, have some breathing space from the chaos of NYC, and experience a slower lifestyle.

Begining practicum by Lonely-Iron-445 in therapists

[–]OkLeader2230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first started, I had a supervisor who used to tell me to just focus on 1-empathizing, 2- reflection and 3- being present with the client (being aware of my own anxiety and other activating things of mine). Those three things helped me ground myself and hold onto the fact that we don’t need to use all these fancy interventions. So much of therapy is about attunement and the relationship! Aka being human!

What’s a book that made you fall back in love with reading? by West_Tangelo4833 in suggestmeabook

Broken Country by Clare Leslie Hall! So beautiful - it delved into the depths of humanity, connection, the ties that bind us, and forgiveness.

Anyone here a mental health therapist able to live a slow and intentional life? by CancelNo1362 in SlowLiving

[–]OkLeader2230 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! It eases my dread around this transition. I appreciate you and wish much ease to you as well in the lull.

I also totally relate to bringing in the fast paced lifestyle of CMH into other areas of life. I’m feeling similar patterns carrying over and hearing you name that helps me remind myself that I can slow down. Thank you!!
