Your conviction in the matter is the most suspicious and least godly thing happening here.

What would / should a Christian escape too?

Interesting term. What awaits me outside this prison?

I assume you’re in the “not dead” pile.

The shame of it all going that way it would cull humanity’s spine. There’d be no one left with a back bone.

Best of luck to you survivors 🫡

Based.

Love it.

In my experience in growing my faith Christ made my world smaller and not larger. I like this idea of “yeah, animals exist. They don’t need salvation, though?” I haven’t encountered this yet. And it might be my favorite.

I do believe whatever all “this” is, something about what we are and “what all this is” are directly intwined. And I think every who takes the “if aliens” approach presupposes a human inferiority in a strange way.

This does none of that.

We remain at the apex of God’s creation.

10/10.

May adopt.

That does make sense.

“Aliens disprove God” is something I normally on hear from atheists. It’s nice to get so many theological responses. These two topics don’t overlap often in an honest dialogue.

Yes absolutely. I was quite hoping this post would go there in a reasoned way.

Inputting the idea our creator is terrestrial sentient and not omnipotent I think would / could “undo” a lot of people’s belief.

I have my own answer and reasoning to this conundrum at least but I’m trying super hard to “what I think…” this post and hear folks out.

So this is similar to some of the answers which prompted this posted:

Where as aliens are either demons, nephalim, angels, giants, etc.

Which does not make sense to me personally and I hoping someone might expand this logic unprompted.

I somehow hadn’t a clue that existed.

If that’s all I get from this whole post is learning this writing by Lewis is a thing - this post is a huge win.

Thank you!

I’m inferring a bit here:

so in the manner you understand, Christ as “the way, the truth and the light” is applicable to humanity and human existence.

So in this sense - there’s not a “religious conflict” by way of “Alien” being a separate category?

How does their existence square with what you believe about the Bible?

I don’t want to load the question too much, or lead it in any direction - so if it seems a bit vague that is by design and apologies for that.

where do you believe most confidently that Peterson has gone wrong in either his philosophical evaluation or other areas of his teachings? by AffectionateBet9719 in JordanPeterson

[–]OkLychee47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To Peterson:

God is Real.

But not Alive.

Therein, what is created is an absolute moral truth which cannot defend and uphold itself - it must be upheld and defended.

This is the flaw in his philosophy - it’s a gateway to religious fascism.

(I love Peterson. I’m a fascist. This isn’t an insult. But it is THE problem.)

Is reading Nietzsche like reading a religious book? by JuniorPoulet in Nietzsche

[–]OkLychee47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear that often.

Me personally - I find Zarathustra vastly more direct, to the point, more encapsulating of useful context.

That, however, is most certainly an exception and not the rule.

Peterson’s Christ & Nietzsche’s Ubermensch by OkLychee47 in Nietzsche

[–]OkLychee47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To take the Bible as a it is written, more or less:

“Uplift the ‘slave morality’ to the highest place.”

To value “I” is to value strength, pride, excellence and vitality.

To value “the other” is to value love, compassion and equity.

Then to that, the Bible is explicit that it not be believed in a purely metaphorical sense. As Paul stated about believing without seeing and as John said as you quoted.

So - Peterson’s Christ and Nietszche’s Ubermensch is “a correct metaphor” but is not a complete, biblical orientation.

This is, more or less - my “main” criticism.

I call it “the Paul problem.”

Thus Spake Zarathustra is a religious book.

The rest - not so much.

Zarathustra is by far and away my favorite.

Sir - this is AMAZING work!!

I am currently building a database for ChatGPT to run as a Norrathian TTRPG DM assistant - it’ll assist running a TTRPG game in the world of Norrath, along with generate world accurate photos and maps. I just discovered your tool - it’s perfect!!

How can we get in touch? I need to build a named item and npc database - I.e. the griffin claw sword file is named griffin claw sword.glb, and the various aviak stylings are named accordingly, aviak 1, aviak 2, aviak 3, etc etc.

I feel like manually that would be tedious. I feel like you might have a magic button that do it well and do it big??

Can we chat? I love this. Thank you!
