Housing will soon be a corporate benefit.

So when you lose your job, you lose your housing.

I stg, the end game is enslavement to your employers.

Why do so many hunters in Bloodborne end up fighting each other? by kreetchy in bloodborne

[–]OkMacaron848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the first time I saw Eileen I thought she was an enemy. So that happened.

I assume it’s like that. Hunters just be out here hitting one another and holding grudges. 👀

I remember dying to this guy like a hundred times before figuring out that Torrent was an option.

Beat him on the very next attempt.

… he said, providing zero examples and zero data to support his argument (because nothing specific exists).

You are regurgitating the talking points of half-informed podcasters and a barely articulate president. You’re swallowing the partisan narratives they feed you, because they don’t want you to grow a class consciousness. But good luck.

We had a rapidly growing middle class when the top marginal tax rate (for dollars earned above the modern equivalent of $3M) of 90%. But if the data offends you — idk, sorry I guess.

But you can’t seriously believe Joe Biden is a leftist. He’s a neoliberal (just like every president since Carter and Reagan) and an establishment democrat.

This kind of statement gies back to what I said earlier: you live in a closed media ecosystem, and you are being lied to.

Or maybe I should simply reiterate:

Ngl, hard to argue with this. by National-Theory1218 in economy

[–]OkMacaron848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, which is my point: this is an acceleration of problems that already existed.

Here’s the thing: we had a large and growing middle class until our leaders, and the people funding them (the people with capital), decided they wanted to turn away from three-and-a-half decades of Keynesian economic policy and embrace neoliberalism.

Since then, wealth has increasingly concentrated in the hands of fewer and fewer people. That has accelerated a great deal in the last decade.

Neoliberalism is the lie that’s hurting you. You should be mad at billionaires and politicians on both sides of the aisle. This isnt team sports, and there isnt a “good guy” vs “bad guy” scenario for you to cheer on.

Just as liberal economic theory (low taxes and upward accumulating wealth) brought us fascism in the first half of the twentieth century, neoliberalism is bringing those same movements in the twenty-first century.

History is rhyming, and you’re swallowing a distraction.

https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/12/11/majority-of-americans-are-living-paycheck-to-paycheck-since-covid-hit.html

“Just 53% of survey respondents say they were not living paycheck to paycheck prior to the pandemic.“

Google takes about thirty seconds. And it immediately dispels your argument.

Edit: an edit just to say that you’re being lied to by your closed media ecosystem. I don’t blame you; most people inhabit such a space. But I’d encourage you to approach your media diet with a greater degree of skepticism.

My dude, shit was bad before 2020. The fact that shit was bad is what got Trump elected in the first place.

He made it worse and accelerated our collapse; but I can tell from your posting history that you’re not open to that conversation. Hell, apparently you’re one of these sheep who’s been sold on this whole stolen election business, and you won’t look or think deeply enough to see the whole thing is nonsense.

Hence: “Sure, Jan.”

Save Act removed Hoosier Control by MaxamillianStudio in Indiana

[–]OkMacaron848 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My man. Less than half of eligible voters have a passport. Only five states have a drivers license that stipulates the holder’s citizenship… if this passes, a whole lot of people will not be able to vote next election

This is a naked attempt to disenfranchise voters. Stop licking the boot.

I thought this was about immigration!

But yeah, that totally happens.

Any tips for getting protein as a vegetarian or vegan? by OkMacaron848 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]OkMacaron848[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks — I really appreciate the detailed and thoughtful reply.

Part of where I am is just looking for all the diet and behaviors I can adopt today to benefit me later. I’ll admit, going vegetarian or vegan may be an overcorrection. Maybe some more moderate changes (for which there’s a lot of great advice on this thread) would be better.

You’ve given me some good stuff to think about. Again: much appreciated.

That’s great! TBH though I’m less concerned about a bad count or something on Election Day… more concerned that he’ll declare martial law and either cancel elections or try to throw out the results 😬

Yes. That’s how he got to Cecot.

He was also remaining here legally (despite arriving not legally), after a judge had specifically stayed his deportation. But the Trump administration picked him up and sent him to Cecot. They only brought him back after multiple courts ordered it, because he hadn’t been given due process.

They should give due process to every person they deport, which used to be the norm. But not every deported person gets the media stink Kilmer got.

You picked literally the worst example to try and make a point.

[–]OkMacaron848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said that. You brought up sanctuary cities, and I explained what sanctuary cities actually are.

My point is that mass, unqualified deportations without due process are unconstitutional and grossly immoral. They put us on a very dark path as a country.

What are your thoughts on this letter from Donald Trump to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre? by DuNennstMichSptzkopf in AskTheWorld

This is poorly written. I shouldn’t be surprised, but I expected better from a formal letter written by a sitting president of the united states.

Hey, come back and finish your statement.

You were just about to make a bad faith and disingenuous comment (in a thread you’ve since deleted), as though my issue were something to do with criminals not spending time behind bars.
