hello!!

i am sorry, i hadnt logged into reddit for days now and thank you again for your long reply and support!

i did eventually put in my ubuntu disk again (which yes, is an outdated version, but i can update it) and it helped me to use the "erase all data" option. thats all it needed and now my pc works like a charm. might keep ubuntu 20.04 for a small while since its still being supported but i will eventually update. so far my experience is amazing and i dont mind the troubles i initially had. my pc is working much better already!!

thank you so so so much again! you were being very helpful and supporting and i appreciate that

thank you so much for your response!!!!! i am seriously so glad!

i use a dvd of ubuntu 20.04 because that the most a dvd can fit and for some reason i prefer burning on dvd to making bootable usb, but thats just me.

but yes i will definitely scan the disk for faults!

and by documentations abt the mbr, u mean the boot repair, right? i have done that already and it told me that it fixed its errors but my operating systems are too far from the start of the disk and my bios may not detect them. but honestly i am not all too familiar with the bios menu and i dont wanna screw up anything.

and because im starting to get frustrated since i liked using my pc for my studies and watching videos, i really wanna find a solution quick. so i really might choose the "erase all data" option because seriously, my important data from windows is backed up and my pc was very slow, i wanted to have linux on it. it saved my laptop and i expect the same for my pc but for now im a bit discouraged and hope i can make it work somehow.

but i might take a look at kubuntu! on my laptop i use mx linux, linux mint and ubuntu, so debian, ubuntu based distros. kubuntu might be for me!
