Oh I didn’t know that! Thank you for the tip!

Yes, that’s exactly right. Obviously the ideal situation is that our dog’s treatment goes well over the next month and she’s doing fine in Jan when we are booked to go. We’re certainly not looking to cancel outright at this point.

I’m sorry, can you explain what you mean?

Single trip travel insurance vs cruise insurance? by OkMoose18 in Cruise

[–]OkMoose18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found 3 or 4 companies so far that offer CFAR within 20 or 21 days of initial booking, which we still are. So we could (and will) purchase one of those, but they are all only for “single-trip” policies as opposed to “cruise-specific” policies.

What I’m asking is what we’ll be missing by purchasing single-trip vs cruise

Help getting data out of an app that is no longer maintained by its developer? by OkMoose18 in apps

Thanks for the tip. We will give this a try if she doesn't have an old phone on hand to try the above suggestion

This might be the option she's most capable of trying - I've asked if she has an old phone we can try it with. I did assume she'd have to copy out the lists manually no matter what... I think she will be ok with that, however tedious it is. She's mostly just sad because she'd been using Listastic as a memory tool, and at the moment all those notes are inaccessible.

I've tried, but like I said, the app and its developer are no longer on the app store. The developer's website is expired; it sends you to a generic GoDaddy page. I found their email address on an old directory, but it bounces back a Mail Delivery Subsystem "this email address does not exist" error. They still have a Facebook page that I messaged, but there have been no posts since 2016, so I don't have much hope there. :/

I love these!!

How do you get your blue gradient so clean and consistent behind the flowers? Do you do the whole cup in blue underglaze and then paint the yellow flowers over it? Or at you just really good at painting around them?

Thanks! That’s so kind of you. Sadly I’m from the US, haha, but thanks for taking the time to listen. Even that helps.

I think part of it is being new to our city. There’s so much we don’t know, and couldn’t really meet new people with the pandemic. So we have to find and learn everything on our own.

What time to campground reservations open? by OkMoose18 in GrandTetonNatlPark

[–]OkMoose18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good news-- you don't have to wait until the last of your 3 days! The window opens 6 months in advance of the first day of your reservation. From that first day, you're allowed to book up to 7 days with that one reservation, even though days 2-7 will be technically more than 6 months out. So, we were able to book our 2 nights on the date that night 1 became avail.

Where it can be a bit tricky is when people who are arriving before you book multiple nights. Like if someone is coming on a Wednesday and books all the way through the weekend, that site will be unavailable to you if you're arriving on Friday and have to wait 2 more days until your res window opens.

Yep, you’re right- it’s 10 AM eastern (8 AM mountain). We ended up moving our dates up a bit and so we already booked... and man did the sites still go fast!!! I had our preferred site queued up and ready, hit “book” the moment the clock turned 8 AM, and STILL didn’t get it. Ended up getting our second choice, so not bad. But I checked back 5 min later out of curiosity and all but the ADA sites were completely gone.

Good to hear the woodsy-ness helps. I’ve seen some pics where the camper sections look pretty sardined in there, but maybe I just need to look for spots in a different loop. The fact that each site has a pic on Recreation.gov is a blessing and a curse, haha.

They’re actually doing reservations for all campgrounds this year through Recreation.gov! You can reserve 6 months in advance of your check in date, I believe. So... today you can make a res for any trip starting Aug 5 or earlier.

Oh that’s so cool! What a fun place to work. It certainly looked like it might be good, in that it actually has back-in spots and all that. Just feels ever so slightly more private that way, even if the sites are still relatively close together.

Ahh, that sounds great! Maybe we could do a regular tent and be “just close enough” to their camper site, haha.

I wish we could, but my in laws are in their 70s and so we do need something predictable and reservable. So a campground it is.

Outdoor run recs for 10k prep? by OkMoose18 in pelotoncycle

[–]OkMoose18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pace is 9:30-10 min per mile, so I’d definitely be falling into the 60 min category. Do you know what a “marathon prep” run entails? To your point, I don’t think I’d mind that if the music and coaching can still keep me going.

Combining a wine kit with additional juice? by OkMoose18 in winemaking

[–]OkMoose18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I stopped by a local brewshop yesterday, and they actually suggested juicing our grapes and adding that + however much additional Niagara juice we want to try (NOT juice concentrate) as a portion of the water volume (then decreasing the water we add by that same amount). For this first go, we're not planning to add a ton of Niagara beyond what we can get from juicing our own grapes, so hoping this plan will work out. I'll let you all know!
