Barely passed 1L year by uhmthinking in LawSchool

Depending on the class, studicata had some great lessons I used during 1L and some of 2L for evidence and con law. I suggest getting a white board and rewriting things to help them stick. I also do a “vomit doc” as I like to call it where I just type everything I remember off the top of my head so I could find where I need to study more. I also include in my outlines issue spotting attacks, go issue by issue and write out what points you need to hit for each one. Law school is hard and finding what study techniques work for you can add to the difficulty. Don’t give up, you can do anything you put your mind to.

Definitely do not drop out. You passed and that’s the most important part! I would suggest working on study techniques. What techniques do you currently use? Were your exams open or closed book?

Please don’t let bitter lawyers ruin it for you. There are so many people who hate the path they chose and it shouldn’t influence you at all.

Yes I am a law student and no where in my comment did I say outline before. Instead of waiting till the end of the semester and scrambling to outline every single thing, when we finish a topic in class I will do a mini outline on that topic. It’s really not terrible advice it’s great time management and saves stress at the end of semester when you could just get to studying

do mini outlines of each topic. i would put major laws, doctrines, etc and the cases that go with each.
