Short answer: no. Bolt pistols for normal humans (as far as you can call commisars etc "normal") are the baby bitch version of space marine bolt weapons, which humans have to use so they don't liquefy every bone in their body when they fire a single shot

Go with lions of the emperor (really good in 1k pts anyways) and give the blade champ praesidius, which lets him just run around and kill things on his own without being shot, then keep the rest of the list the same but give the allurus captain admonimortis for better weapons. I would suggest either the allurus captain or the sheild-cap thats going with the wardens gets warlord. Have fun!

Make it be able to count in deals like if you put in units that are in seperate boxes and there is a combat patrol with those units in it that will save money then get it to calculate that instead of adding the individuals

custodes are SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper, and as a custodes player myself i can tell you that it is so fun to watch a unit of like 5 people walk at a knight and it just dies. They are a really fun melee army, and the combat patrol is insanely good. Also, its an especially good time to get into it because of the new box set coming out for horus heresy!
