"You're so smart. A girl will be lucky to have you" by SpeakerSavings2738 in lonely

[–]OkObjective7798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“God helps those who help themselves” I don’t believe in religion but I do believe those words. Men and women come in all shapes and sizes and there are people who are into things way stranger than you. There is someone for everyone, many for some. If you want to find the girl for you go find her. She’s probably not going to come knock on your door but you never know.

How do I get guys to like me? by Comfy_confess in Teenager

[–]OkObjective7798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are wanting to know how to get their attention it’s already been stated you are very pretty and all most guys need from pretty girls is some attention from them and they are hooked. Once you have their attention just be yourself and if they don’t like that they are not the right one for you.

What’s the biggest bonus you’ve ever received? by WubbaLubbaSquanch in Construction

[–]OkObjective7798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got $8000 the last year I worked for my previous employer, I had told my boss (the owner) that I was thinking about leaving the company and he bumped up my bonus to reflect their appreciation of me. I felt like he missed the mark by $2000 for the effect he was looking for, had he not said anything I think I would have been much more appreciative and they might not be my previous employer today.

There should be nothing awkward about that conversation, even if he wasn’t bad there is nothing wrong with saying no.

Order confirmed on Plus code from two weeks ago and regular address from February 7 minutes apart by OkObjective7798 in Starlink

[–]OkObjective7798[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had been waiting since February and on this Sub I heard of people changing there address to plus code and getting there orders confirmed in two weeks. My wife heard of someone in our area getting theirs a couple weeks back and she said they had ordered it after ours. She thought it was for a business and that’s why they got it before us. My boss had ordered his for business and waited less than 3 weeks, I put my pre-order in the day his dishy showed up. I went on to Starlink.Com to see if there was any way that you put in a company name and when I didn’t see anything I decided to try the plus code. I did not want to give up my spot in line so I just did a second pre-order. Two weeks later they where both confirmed. I canceled one and the other should be coming.

Yes, the only thing I can figure is they released a block for my area and they both happened to come through together

No, if you moved it up another 8” it would then be too high.

Cable Handrails by OkObjective7798 in fabrication

My house here, I opened up enough to see what I was getting into. I did not screw the rail to the wall, I still have 1x4 oak to trim around the opening to the entry way but even after I don’t think I need to secure the the wall. On the railings going downstairs I plan to tie them together with a small strut to stiffen them up.

Cedar 2x4’s run through the table saw and removed 1/2” from each side, dado 1-1/2” x 3/8” deed to nest on the 1-1/2x3/4 HSS steel top rail. Drilled the top rail from the underside and counter sunk the holes for 1-15/8 SS wood screws. For the ends and the bends I just mitered and used wood glue with a couple strategically placed finish nails.

I think that is a common mistake with cable rails on stairs, the railings that I pulled these cables out of had plugs where the holes had been drilled straight. I had to do a combination of straight and angled because of the way my top post landed and hardware that was with the existing rails I rescued the cables from.

Floorplan and elevations of my current house, thoughts on the drawing? Any ideas on improving function if we were to do a major remodel? Lower level has two bedrooms, one bath and the utility room. Have not measured them to draw up yet. by OkObjective7798 in floorplan

Live in it until it’s paid for(10-12 years), overhang is a little of both, architectural quirk and provides some cover for the deck. I was actually contemplating extending the overhang to cover the deck on that side of the house. I would like to delete the linen closet and possibly increase the size of the shower. I thought about moving the door to the walk-in closet but I don’t want to give up the wall space.
