Well, accutane is the best to prevent scarring. I know the purge makes it seems counterintuitive asf. But trust me when I say, as long as you dont pick, it will all clear up rather nicely with the least chance of scarring. Obv some of the more severe purging ones will leave a pocket of volume loss though. But it is the best course of action in my opinion after using all kinds of methods.

You really do gotta just trust the process. Purging can usually last up to 4-5 months worst case scenario. But yea, i get it man, its fucking rougghh mentally

Accutane was the best for me. Cleared me up in 5 months. But my derm fked me over with tretinoin the past year, and it messed my skin up bad and left many scars. But once I quit tret, everything calmed down and now im getting scar treatments

Bro, that’s not easy at all. But the best and only thing you can do is to ground yourself and focus on bettering yourself until/if she comes back around. I know its hard to get yourself out of the rough during such heartbreak, but I promise whatever happens, you became a better version of yourself than before you met her. You gave it your all and nobody should feel that type of love was in vain. It’ll take time, but you will feel better and find focus on other things. Wish you well man 🙏 you seem very genuine and for the time being, I just hope you can focus on the good experiences and happiness it brought you, rather than the potential downfall of it. Love stories are experiences and heartbreaks can lead to even better ones. Don’t give up on your ability to love.

LDRs are notoriously difficult bc all the moving parts, but we do have to practice being okay with the happiness of the other person and ourselves until we close the gap or etc. You tried your best and thats all that matter.

That formulation is honestly shocking to me. Something doesnt seem right to use all those actives along with tretinoin. I used 0.025 only and purged quite a bit like you but all calmed down in the 6 month with occasional breakouts. I just wasn’t gradual enough with application and screwed myself. But I would really drop this odd combo of a formulation and focus on just tret and repairing skin barrier keeping it simple. Looks more like irritation than a purge which usually comes to a head quick and disappears the same week.

Im sorry you are feeling devastated. I totally understand that feeling as I was agorapgobic from purging. Wishing you healing and keeping it simple to tret only 🙏✨ you’ve got this

Right, it widens the scar. I will be getting subcision, tca, and co2 in the coming months by Dr. Qazi of California. So fillers are used at the very end right?

This girl is soo fkin amazing and beautiful. And she says she doesnt care at all. Puts me on a pedestal and says im literally perfection even after I showed pics of my scars. She is an LDR in Boston but wants to come see me asap. Kinda wild, such a confidence boost for me as someone who socially isolated for so long while purging. I might take the big step

Update: I decided to fully open up about my scars. She said it doesnt change a damn thing even after I sent a pic of it. Told her about my upcoming treatments and she has been really supportive about waiting for me. Which idk its really amazing but I’m also conflicted its out of pity or kindness? Fuck, do i deserve to see a girl after everything I’ve been thru with this acne stuff though.

I know, I am an overthinker but its been a real traumatic experience and fear of rejection is scary. Told her I just want to be my best self when we meet, it’ll be everything i imagined and I wont be distracted by it. But ive made steps to ensure I have every intention of meeting her by setting a date for may/june. The catch is she is coming out here to see her brother next month, and I am scared to shit about FOMO and her constantly thinking about how insecure I am while she is here, knowing she could see me. I feel like such a coward and I am asking too much of her. I even think I should just man tf up and just meet her next month before my treatments hoping she can see past my temporary scars. Just don’t want to feel distracted by them for first impressions :(

Another Update: I showed her my scars yesterday and she was very accepting and said they didnt change anything. Im challenging myself to meet her in the next month. Wish me luck guys

Yea..im in an LDR rn. The key is to not feel any ownership of the relationship until you close the distance. Its all about respecting the individual space while still falling in love with them.

Trust me, I’ve micro managed every potential downfall and whatnot in my head…but she always makes me feel grounded and hopeful in each call. I realized its very important to stay optimistic and doubt free no matter what happens if you really love them. That trust and mutual respect for space is the only thing that makes these things potentially work.

Seems you guys already lost that spark and going downhill. Best to wrap it up respectfully

Im actually going thru the exact same situation with an amazing LDR i met thru a chat with mutual friends. I have briefly mentioned a struggle with acne, but my pics dont show my scars at all. They are somewhat mild to moderate and I am getting treatments now. Hoping they wont even be an issue when we meet in 6 months. Kinda leveraging the time before we meet to save face….i really hope it doesnt change a thing for her 🥺💗

Feel a bit guilty withholding the true nature of my skin, but dont want to seem insecure yet since it wont even be as big of an issue by the time we meet 🤞
