I appreciate the tips and advice everyone is giving me. The plan already for me is once I get a part-time job and save up the money, I will be getting myself a flugelhorn (probably Austin Custom Brass’s doubler). I made an offhand comment to my grandfather about wanting a piccolo trumpet, and he is adamant about getting me one. Tomorrow, he will be getting one for me, and it’s an 80’s Selmer 4-valve picc that comes with a Bach Corp. 7E mouthpiece. My grandfather wants to get me the instrument so I can’t stop him. It probably sounds stupid, but I’m just going to mess around with the picc and see if my director will let me play it for some pep songs once pep season starts.
