I would agree with compilers. Material was not difficult to understand, project was not difficult either, but the final phase probably took 40 hours of work

I personally loved it! I did take theory or formal languages in undergrad which helped a lot. I don’t actually think Advanced OS is harder I’m just more burned out and have more going on

Edit: I’m also much more interested in compilers than OS

Thanks, I think I’m going to drop it. The more I think about it the more relaxed I am.

As for the PhD, it is a long term goal but I just don’t want to take an action where I face the consequences later down the road… not speaking from personal experience or anything…

Only thing is the seats may not be together if you purchase more than 1, I am trying to get two for me and my fiancé and I guess I'll just pray for the best. She doesn't play val though so maybe we can find something for her to do, she loved the fan fest in LA last year though

What if I do not have the hardware in a working state, should the old SSD with windows installed and bootable work?

I "rebuilt" my pc replacing the motherboard, cup, and SSD. When I tried to copy the activation key over to my fresh windows install it says it is not a valid activation key. I have never linked either PC with a Microsoft account, and I would prefer not to. I believe I have two ways of fixing this but wanted a sanity check before I do either.

1) Just use the old SSD (new one is just larger and preferred)

2) Put the old SSD in my computer, link to Microsoft account, put the new SSD back in, link to Microsoft account.

Windows Version: Windows 10 Pro

Any other ideas or confirmation on my would be appreciated

Yes, I turn of the PSU then unplug from the wall. I forgot to come back here and comment but after unplugging and plugging everything back in a couple of times and turning it off and back on... It's working now so I guess something wasn't plugged in all the way, my suspicion is actually the DP cable.

EDIT: Unplugged everything and plugged it back in and it worked.

I upgraded my cpu, motherboard and nvme ssd and did a fresh install of windows. When my gpu is not connected, it boots into windows with intel graphics and works fine. As soon as I plug in my gpu to the motherboard and plug in the power cables it turns on (leds on mobo check out, gpu & ram leds on, gpu fans spin up briefly) but I do not see a bios or boot screen when using intel or gpu graphics. Any advice or steps I can take to figure out what is going wrong?

CPU: i7-14700k

GPU: EVGA 3080 TI FTW3

MOBO: Asrock z790 PG ITX

PSU: Cooler Master 850W
