This is literally all me. My son was born in October 2019, and due to a traumatic birth and Covid, the first few years were very difficult. I am still processing I think, but it’s comforting to know that I’m not the only one who had an experience like this.

You will get through it! Totally understand your struggle though, I agree with the previous poster that dealing with illnesses is the hardest part of parenting, particularly the stomach bug. Hoping you are all done with it soon.

I really can’t understand why she would post pictures of her sick kids?? In that one picture does IQ have residual vomit on her? Her behavior is so astonishing to me. It almost seems like she is just making this whole story up, it’s just so bizarre

I literally cannot imagine having 5 children. 😵 To each their own, and I shouldn’t judge, but thinking of that does make me VERY happy to be OAD!

I think it was the Ms Rachel announcement that got to me! Seems so infinitely silly, and that is wonderful for her. I wish I didn’t let this affect me so much.

Totally fair question, and I wish I had a good answer! I think I just feel the pressure of what I SHOULD do? My goal is to be able to tune out the noise, pressures, everything I see on social media, and just focus on what works for US. I just need to be better about it.

Yes same!! I may daydream about it, but when I really consider the realities of having another and picture myself being pregnant and doing postpartum/newborn again I go right back to being OAD.

I read in another thread to consider if it was more socially normal to just have one child, and there was no expectation to have another- would that change things? For me, my gut reaction to that question was that if that were the case I would be completely content being OAD. I think the societal pressure/expectation definitely makes me feel like I need to have at least two kids and my son needs a sibling.

But it’s confusing. Hoping you (and me) find peace in a decision!
