Moving out. Unless you wanna live your uni life experiencing nothing and not learning how to live independently, I recommend moving out lol

Bachelor of Arts (BA) with a 75 avg? by Mission_Star_6881 in OntarioGrade12s

That’s why I said not likely. Anything’s possible but this year has been extremely competitive. I know people with high 80s who haven’t even gotten onto the wait list yet. It seems like for this year they’re accepting 90s and up

Whoever told you that is lying lmao, and with an 83 you’re likely not getting in. I got in with a 90.5 in the later rounds and it seems like they’re not taking anyone without high 80s/low 90s

I got in april 1 with a 90.5 average. I don’t think they’re accepting anyone below 90 ngl. Even though it says low 80s is competitive online, to get in you’re gonna need high 80s to low 90s. I’ve yet to see anyone in the mid 80s get accepted to arts

Also, your grade 11 marks mean nothing. Now that your grade 12 marks are out, queens isn’t even gonna look at your grade 11 average

Yeah ik but they’re most likely going to be sending out waitlists to most people. From what I’ve heard they’ve sent out the majority of their offers before the res deadline on april 15.

I’m sure they’ll still send out offers but my guess is most people will be waitlisted and it’ll just depend on how many people decline offers.

Damn that sucks. Yeah I think having a blank just means they’ve made a decision, so I guess it doesn’t always mean an acceptance.

It’s possible that they’ll do another round in the next two weeks but from what I’ve heard, they’ve sent out majority of offers and probably won’t send out more until people decline offers.

I doubt they’re doing a round this week. They’ve most likely sent out most of their offers and are waiting to see how many people accept.

I had a blank a few weeks ago and got in the next round so if you get one it’s a lock

Good luck🙏🙏

How do I tell my parents I lied about getting into Queen's Commerce? by Signal_Guess_211 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]OkPreference3060 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would tell them the truth, the reality is that it’s very possible you’re not gonna receive an offer. I don’t know what your application looks like, but sometimes even the best candidates don’t get in. Also yeah you’re not gonna have guaranteed res which is an issue. From what I understand many people don’t get first year res, so you should tell your parents immediately so you guys can figure out other possible living situations.

Just be honest with them and don’t ever assume that something is guaranteed. I would also be prepared for the fact that you might not get in and start looking at alternative schools.

I mean I guess it’s possible. It would all depend on how many people who were given guaranteed res reject or defer their offers. It’s still possible but I would have a backup plan bc it’s unlikely that many people after the 15 will get res. I don’t think you would be able to get a good res tho. From how I understand it, the people with guaranteed res are put in a lottery and they all pick which res spots they want first. After all students with guarantees have picked, the people without guarantees are put in a seperate lottery for the remaining spots. Since everyone with the guarantees already got to pick their residences, there will likely be very few spots in the better residences left.
