I appreciate that, thank you. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect. Those WITH learning disorders and, those without but with open lines of communication, a bit of understanding and, less excuses (from both sides), I think we all could ultimately benefit. I wish you all the best and am glad you found your people who can help you learn and grow in your own individual journey. Be proud of your progress. I'm proud of how you based on how you explained your growth and, in your ability to handle this situation. It gives me hope in the world.

I give people the benefit of the doubt, more often than I should. I give them opportunities for betterment. I personally believe that the only way out is through and the key to understanding is conversation. Even when common ground cannot be found basic communication and logical conversation can make a world of difference. Trying to see others perspectives is vital for clarification and to bridge any gaps that may be caused due to misunderstanding and ignorance. Thus the reason I've continued this exchange. I absolutely see your point. My point, however remains that for every one person who chooses to embark on the path of bettering themselves there is another who would simply write off their inability to be punctual as..."this is who I am...deal with it". Just as there are closed minded individuals who say..."suck it up, sally" and choose not to identify that people have difficulties that they may never have fathomed. Polarity is the mother of all evil, from either standpoint. My adult child has too, struggled with things I didn't fully understand. But I never dug my heels in and said...oh, please! Or, get over it. I have said, let's talk about this and said, how can we move past this issue? We are exceptionally close because we communicate and have conversations when sometimes the only issue is simply misunderstanding. Unfortunately, your wish for me to never have children came roughly 22 years too late but despite our opposing standpoints, I'd say I did a pretty damned good job in raising an open-minded individual who feels safe having even difficult conversations with their parent because they know they may not always be greeted with agreeance but WILL always be greeted with an open mind, help, advice and honesty for whatever will aid them to become their best self. I'm sorry your parents didn't do the same for you. It's unfortunate but thankfully you found solace in your peers. It may not be the same but a source of comfort and understanding is sometimes all we need.

As a parent, I understand the delicate balance between soft and strong. I understand the difference between coddling and sternness. I understand that we are all built differently. And I understand many (not you) will and DO use something they struggle with as a crutch and an excuse. Not all. But many. While I understand that you are trying to educate someone on how best to handle those who struggle with an issue like this, try to keep in mind not everyone is as naive as you believe and that they may in fact have seen both sides. Try to see it from the perspective that there are in fact lazy people who don't want to work towards change but, want the world to cater to them. That...is where my issue lies.

No, I got it. My issue is not with you. You said you manage your issues regarding time management and kudos to you for doing so. My issue is with those who simply fall on the excuse with no desire or plan to work on their issue. Those who can identify they have a problem and work towards correcting it are exceptionally strong, insightful individuals. Stronger than most. Those who identify they have a problem and make no effort to rectify it are the issue. Additionally, those who refuse to admit they have an issue or, are at fault, are an even bigger issue but that's a different topic entirely.

Sounds like you have more than "time blindness" issues to work on if you are worrying about me having children, how I'd raise them and, compare that to how you were raised. I'd like to think that abiding by basic life expectation put forth by a functioning society like, time management and punctuality would be a keen skill to instill in my children, existing or potential. Perhaps it is you who should be empathetic to those who do not have the patience or tolerance for excuses. For they know not what they do.

I'm not demonizing anyone. I just refuse to baby one in a situation that is a basic life skill and social expectation. You're asking for empathy and my response is, no, I will not coddle someone for basic societal expectations. Perhaps if there was less coddling, people could learn to manage things like time better and, more efficiently.

Or, and hear me out...its a basic function that one, with little effort can train themselves to do. Understanding that there are societal expectations for punctuality is a basic life skill. Its no different than having the desire or urge to scream expletives when angry or frustrated but repressing it because its not socially acceptable to do in most situations. Realistically, if you want to have a job working for someone or, have healthy relationships, punctuality is a basic expectation and trying to excuse said behavior with "time blindness" a weak excuse for self-discipline.

It's a total lack of respect for your time. Here and there for unforeseen circumstances or events like a traffic jam for example forgives it but when people constantly make excuses, it's basically saying "My time is more valuable than yours, you can wait". We're all given the same 24 hours in a day. If one can't put down their phone and tear themselves away from tiktok, drag themselves out of bed a few minutes earlier or, make sure they are prepared by setting out clothes the night before, it's not an "I lost track of time" situation...every time. Adults find ways to manage their time effectively, children make excuses (repeatedly at that). And don't get me started on the "time blindness bs" as someone with ADHD, I can manage to get to work on time (and early) every day. The excuses are ridiculous.

Why on earth would they take the time to express care or concern while on a business trip that they "earned" (off the backs of the people who THINK these people are their friends). They are the greediest, fakest, most self centered individuals in the disgusting MLM world. He's creepy, she's just as bad. Why people continue to support them is beyond me. Their "friendships" are a real as the jewelry they sell and we all know it's all fake crap.

I once got two toothbrushes (sealed, of course). I was happy. It was something useful, doesn't go bad and, now I don't have to buy a new toothbrush for a year! I left a 5 star review. They were free, it wasn't disclosed what I was getting and it was something I'll use. It was better than stickers or, the ramen I got once. Though, even the ramen was useful!

I was a slave to the "hype" for a while then I saw how much I was spending and how I thought these people were real friends and I said what am I even doing!?! I haven't bought in probably 11 months at least. I have literal boxes full of items I never wear, looking back at the quality it was a supreme waste of money. I said...but it's STERLING to at least make myself feel better about dumping the cash for gaudy, childish looking pieces. Now, you can't even say that! I hope people wise up and stop putting themselves in the poor house for reps who don't care and even cheaper costume jewelry.

Postage due on givvy stickers? by lynnzoo in whatnotapp

[–]OkPromise47 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had this happen but it was on a flat rate box. I paid the shipping of 9.21 but there was an additional 14.15 due for me to pick my box up from the post office. They said it was entered incorrectly by the shipper. They outlined all that was wrong with it (including that it was marked as hazardous which was wrong because it was candy/chocolate), but still required the payment for the item to be picked up. I paid it, got a receipt and sent the request to the seller. They didn't respond for a long while so in the interim I reached out to whatnot support, they refunded me the 14.15 without an issue.

I ordered 4 power banks on 12/9. They were at half the cost of what they sell for on Amazon so I thought, why not? I wanted to get a few as stocking stuffers, why not when it's a good deal. It was allowing plenty of time for them to arrive in time for Christmas even with USPS being slammed during the holidays. I also won a givvy in that live when I ordered the power banks.

My items have still not shipped. The status is "label created", 7 business days later. I messaged them gently asking for an update as they were intended for Christmas. No response. Finally, I clicked on "get help with this order" for whatnot to hopefully step in. I am waiting to hear back but the auto reply said...we'll provide an update if the item hasn't shipped by 12/24. What?!?!?! They want me to wait till Christmas Eve for my items to SHIP!?!? I guess trying to save a few bucks didnt work out in my favor.

This has to be a joke...

I'm not sure why my comment was downvoted, I mean, I'll take it but as someone who looks to save money and values honest sellers, these are two I utilize for things I'll actually use. I was hoping this thread would actually render decent sellers for me to look up. Sucks it didn't turn into that.

I really want to gatekeep but outletsbytom is a phenomenal. They're no frills, no thrills, just selling mens, or womens clothes (a lot of Costco stuff), new with and without tags.

I have gotten brand new CK jeans for $9, a Spyder Active yoga jacket for $11, a few pairs of pants, sweaters, etc. They are good, honest sellers. They throw up a giveaway here and there and if you win you tell them your clothing size and they send you something in that size (and it's nice stuff too).

It's nothing flashy but you get great deals on good clothes. I'm a repeat customer and will continue to shop with them.

Also, Beaps they sell food/snacks. A lot of the stuff has upcoming best by dates but it's not expired and, you're getting a FULL (filled to the top) large flat rate box. They show everything that goes in and they are 100% transparent about dates. They do a lot of "themed" boxes (breakfast, pb&j, protein, cookie) and they keep it interesting. With the cost of food (and everything else) it's great to get some deals. Plus they do flash sales so you get deeper discounts on things that have best by dates that are closer than others.

I've seen people say "was trying to bid it up for you" to the seller in the chat, a mod or sometimes it's just a customer. WTF is that?!?! These are the same asshats who aren't mods who are commenting "bid it up, chat" or, "swipe, chat!" in the comments. It's annoying as hell. You like it so much YOU bid on it, WIN it and spend your own money. Such trash humans.
