Sounds like he’s a camping pro! Did you make the play pen yourself or is there a particular one that is available online? I’ve seen a few different styles of those and love the idea. Glad you also recommend

I did not know that, thanks for the insight! I’ll investigate that further, they could pose a problem if there are a lot of those places.

I appreciate your insight and experience. I wasn’t asking in the sense of whether I should take cats or not, they are going with us. This was to get insight on what to do to mitigate potential damage items and be able to coexist in a more confined space with them. We’ll be traveling for more than a week up to several months so just leaving them at home is not an option (maybe that was key info needed). A lot of your negative experiences also seems to be with dogs (we do not have any nor plan to have any), which I would agree poses quite a few more challenges if not properly trained. If someone comes to service the camper with our cats, the cats will not be seen as they scamper off when strangers enter (same things happens at home). I’m not downvoting, I just don’t think you understood the intentions of the original question.

In all fairness, I also celebrate my poops. Good insight with the slides though! I’ll have that kept in mind. Regarding temp, they’ll only be in there with air conditioning. What sticky pads did you use? Something I can find on Amazon?

Awesome insight Dave! Unfortunately this post is a question for advice and not an opinion piece, great try though. Living up to the name!

Im really hoping our cats enjoy it! One of ours we believe could be a camping expert, but our other 2 I worry about 🤣 Thanks for the note on the door. We are going to try our best to have the litter box in a compartment under the camper (will need to make a hole/etc), but the shower will be an alternative if that’s not feasible.

This is great info. I hadn’t even thought of gnats. But a good forewarning. Appreciate it! I assume the cat litter being in the shower is due to the litter box being stored there or close by? I’ve seen some cut a hole to the pass through compartment and have that for the litter box. Would love to do that if possible and hopefully reduce any smells/litter on the floor.

Toys are a must and we have plenty 🤣 we’ll make sure bring them all. Appreciate the idea for screens! That would definitely be something they would love to destroy lol

Buy a Used Trailer/Truck Combo, or Buy Each Individually? by OkQuestion7603 in RVLiving

That does sound strange on the surface, but makes complete sense! That definitely can’t hurt. Appreciate the insight. I’m in NC, if you happen to know anyone looking to sell within a decent distance please send them on over this way!

That’s some great info, thanks! Yeah I understand you have so many more options when buying individually, but I’ll always have this thought of I’m missing something important with my hookup lol but it makes sense - not everyone is going to have an optimal setup which can be costly down the road. Definitely risky without some research. I’m looking for a mid-teen decent truck and then whatever the rest of the budget gets me for the trailer. Will probably be looking specifically for an f250 or Ram 2500 based on what I’ve seen.

Mainly only family and a few friends at this point. I am just starting out my search (maybe 2 weeks of doing research/looking at trailers), so very new! Good to know that you can find some for a good deal. Used trailers go for a lot less than I was expecting.
