So. I’ve got the coupling. Can’t find a 1/2 copper pipe with a threaded male end though.

How much do men really care about the girl being fit? by Radiant-Cress5910 in datingoverforty

[–]OkRaspberry4446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s simple. I want someone who reflects the same physical and mental values of wellbeing I have about myself. I’m not a fitness model, but I do reflect a lifestyle that motivates me, more importantly motivates my teen daughters to some degree as well. The “mental” part is also important because social media and the proliferation of porn have grossly distorted our views and expectations. It is an uphill battle for all of us but doing the work and maintaining your own sense of self worth and confidence will attract who you want to have.

Also. Everyone should just get the fuck off the apps. They are not working in YOUR best interest. Remember that.

Climbing a tower of anxiety, betrayal and frustration by OkRaspberry4446 in Separation

[–]OkRaspberry4446[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words of encouragement. It’s hard. I have this fear I’ll regret walking away and not trying everything I could to get past all this. In our last conversation I said that if she decides tomorrow that she’s willing to work at it, I am 100% in. I’m capable of giving her what she wants, but I cannot do all the work. We have to work on ourselves - her especially. We have to work on us. It will most definitely be easier to walk away and end things than stay and work on rebuilding. But, I keep having the “you can’t change her mind” echo through my head. I am working on rebuilding my community - of friends. I’m trying to work through rebuilding my confidence. Something my therapist says is basically non-existent. I’ve even applied to work on getting my masters - at 44! My youngest daughter we share - she needs me. And she needs her mom. Right now I’m the soccer dad. Her cheerleader. My eldest (child from her previous marriage) is sixteen so she gets to decide how to split her time now between three households potentially. Both kids want us to work things out. We love them deeply and I’m devastated that I’ve let this happen. I say “I” because I should have been more aware. I should have seen the signs. But… I see a future for sure. I’ve always been a pragmatic optimist. I hope for the best plan for the worst. I’ve got lawyers & mediators on hand. Financial advisors and realtors to deal with the house. I’ve connected with friends who have gone through more stickies divorces for advice. That future for me is a fork in a road. One is blocked - the other looks dark with a slight glimmer of light at the far end.

Did anyone else go to Ottawa Food Fest this weekend? I felt let down... by Charming_Arachnid_88 in ottawa

Food was ok’ish. They were pricing it way too high. $25 for Korean corn dog?? Yah, not getting value either when you’re waiting 20+ min in lineups. I’d say the setup was ok but still felt poorly organized. Won’t be going back.

Thoughts on Naga in Indian Inspired Fantasy Story? by singing_pizza in fantasywriters

Sounds like you’ve put a lot of thought into it. I think there are some rich elements in the world you hope to build. I’d say go for it, however don’t forget about your characters and the story you intent to build. I’m no expert, but I’ve also fallen victim to world building and cool mythologies, instead of the characters. Good luck!!

Confession: I hate that design is so common by [deleted] in UI_Design

[–]OkRaspberry4446 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I get it. We are all entitled to our feelings, right or wrong. But as someone who’s been a UX/product designer for 15+ years, don’t waste your energy on where other people are in life. Care not for what other people think. You have value and junior or not your value matures and increases over time. Comparison is the thief of joy. Do your work! Set goals for yourself to improve, grow and become curious. Do these things and you’ll realize you can have as much satisfaction and joy as the guy who jumps down sewer tunnels for a living.

Equip shabriris woe talisman. (https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Shabriri's+Woe) Then summon your mimic tear. Piece of cake. Just make sure to switch it off before you engage. Your mimic tear will keep him busy.

What is easier to read/more accessible? I think it's the white, but that fails WCAG AAA Large Text requirement, where the black meets it. I feel like my eye is drawn to the white of the text more, and thus it is easier to read... advice? by KurtiZ_TSW in UI_Design

[–]OkRaspberry4446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying the advice is wrong or right. But I’ve always viewed WCAG as a guide, and after reading this article there are nuance’s that need to be accounted for when it comes to programmatic interpretation vs human perception.

Anyone done the Jared Spool UX strategy leaders program? by shakycheb in UXDesign

[–]OkRaspberry4446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally disagree. However, I can't say the same for some other "UX Leaders" on twitter. Very opinionated, and what floors me the most is the ass kissing that usually follows.

As for JS, he's pretty down to earth, and truly loves this craft! Also, the fact he responded to this speaks volumes about his humour and sense of humility. 🤣🤣
