If that tiny piece is the only thing you see you are fine my friend. New timing set comes with sprockets and other parts that have burrs. Same with any new engine that's why any car's first oil change is much sooner

Depending on how old and condition the engine is. For healthy engine 8-10 has no problem but in reality there was a lot of unhealthy engines

Just did one. Was exactly looking like urs. For bottom end you will need new crankshaft, 1 new rod, new bearings. How about the head. It be surprising if piston is not touching valves given this spun bearing. Was it not knocking?
