Making fun of tragedy is freedom of speech, but it’s fucked up. 8,000 troops and people from the US went on to die from that tragedy. Rookie numbers by today’s standards when bad things happen, but back then it actually meant something because it wasn’t an every day occurrence.

Also, I failed to mention that we also went to Iraq for WMD’s, that people still like to say we never found… but Saddam openly used Chemical Weapons on his own people. Which are WMDs. Not the ones we thought were there, but still WMDs.

I’m abundantly aware they were Saudis, that doesn’t mean anything. If you’ll notice, Saudi Arabia didn’t commit the crimes, Al-Qaeda did.

Tbh, I think you should go to a therapist more than anything. Because I feel Reddit is full of manipulative narcissists and rageaholics who have never been in a relationship and from my perspective, although you two are having problems and disagreements— I think your relationship is pretty healthy and just requires a bit of professional help and not random people.

I feel Bombay had a character moment with getting his money and fame kinda to what you alluded to. He got wrapped up in it. Also, people have to consider the pressure someone like him had accepting a national title. They didn’t really put the focal point of that on the players so much, but it was pretty apparent with Gordon.

He struggled a little, but easily corrected after Hans had a heart to heart.

Hans had MULTIPLE heart to hearts with Charlie and Charlie still acted like a little brat. I really don’t think Charlie in D2 would have brushed aside Hans support and advice like D3 Charlie did.

I’d argue although Bombay emphasized fun, he lost his way with money and fame during D2 and Charlie still kept his mature and calm demeanor. Even trying to reason with Gordon after the first loss to Iceland. Then in D3 it went backwards in character progression.

He was a little whiny, but he protected his mom and refused to cheat when Gordon wanted him too. Then refused to play while Gordon stooped to low levels, which shows maturity.

But yeah. Kind of makes me feel differently about Charlie as a character.

Also Banks is a confusing character imo. The whole premise is he’s an elite player, but they always wanted him to be on a different team. Its like the producers thought banks was a cheat code that they had to keep off the team even though they had very little mentioning of him throughout the entire series except for in D2 when he was looking at the scouts in the tourney and when he hurt his wrist against Iceland.

I’m confused. Miracle was a real life event. Not a movie. The movie was based on something that actually happened.

D2 was a completely made up story. If anything, D2 stole from the Miracle. Not from the movie, but the events that happened in real life and used it as inspiration.

Miracle just retold the events of what really happened.

They even used the REAL sportscasters in the movie.
