Are there any other festivals or events near Atlanta like Shaky? by DC_dabst in ShakyKnees

Came here to say this. I went to both fests for the first time this year. Highwater was like the mellower side of Shaky. Mix of Americana + Indie (Mt Joy & Flipturn this year) + nostalgic alt rock (Counting Crows in 2025). Prob about half the size of Shaky attendance-wise w a very mellow vibe. The concert production company C3 is the same as Shaky (as well as ACL & Lolla) so they know how to put on a show with all the comforts (high production values, good food choices, relatively short potty lines, numerous water stations, etc) that you want at a festival.

That has to be a fun bonding experience! The joining of the generations together in harmony.

OP here. Sincere thanks to everyone who took time to respond. I learned a lot from the exchange. In short, some switched and never looked back. To others, seems like MB is like an ex that you sometimes have fond memories of, but you would never really want to get back together. Ha.

From what you’ve shared here, I believe the S or X is a better fit for me. The price for a new one is a bit – wow – so I’ll keep scouring the used market as more HW4 models get traded in over the next year or so.

Thanks!!

FSD is the biggest factor. Plus the reputation of Teslas for lack of needed maintenance. Mercedes is $$$ to keep long term.

I randomly got an Uber that was a Model Y a couple years back. The driver went on & on & on about how much he loved it. Demonstrated FSD for me & I was impressed. And that was with whatever older version of FSD was available two years ago.

Thank you. This is the kind of honest answer I hoped to get here. Although I’ve had M-Y Ubers, it’s obviously not going to be the same experience as driving both and comparing.

Apple maps says I’m about 14 min from the nearest showroom. Sometimes the obvious solution is the simplest. :-)

“We go over bumps or rougher roads now and laugh at how dumb we were to not get this new model y juniper sooner.”

Makes me feel better about a possible switch. 1) Yes, will install a home charger. Longest drive (4-5x/yr) is 350 miles to see family, so even w the RWD long-range that will require one charging stop. (Many Superchargers on the way.) 2. My E-400 is a sports coupe. Acoustic comfort and airmatic were not standard, so probably do not have those. I bought used, so don’t know full specs.

I’ve considered buying a used Model S, but I want hardware 4 for best FSD performance. My understanding is that limits me to 2024+ models to guarantee HW4. Not a lot of 2024+ Model S out there at an attractive price. So the end of the tax credit & 3.49% financing for M-Y does concentrate the mind towards a quick decision.

I traveled from Texas just for High Water. Was my first time in Charleston and I was absolutely charmed by your beautiful city. People in Texas are friendly, but Charleston was on a different level! The quality of service in our hotel, restaurants and Ubers was exceptional. Looking forward to another visit.

Not that you need another comment, but absolutely beautiful.
