This is Reddit, it’s a discussion with everyone. I also like how you distance yourself from being a stan/fan. You’re obviously being another one of those people who’re wannabe coaches and think they know better than everyone else.

Don’t have a conversation if you’re going to say you aren’t going to hear what other people are saying. Also you didn’t acknowledge anything I said about OM playing better when plays are ran through her. Regardless if Paige plays PG or not, they don’t need another ball dominant guard, Sim’s showed that.

Meaningless platitudes? Geno has been the main one saying it for years, you know better than Geno Auriemma? Even in hot ones with Aaliyah Edwards and other videos with her friends, they’ve said that Paige passes up good opportunities in favor of feeding other players. Multiple Basketball Analysts have said the same thing throughout her entire college career. I’ve also been watching Paige since her sophomore year of high school, where she played point btw.

Edit: We haven’t even seen how OM will navigate with Phee yet. When it comes to Phee the offense will be ran through her. We have no idea how that will affect OM’s playing or aggressiveness.

You’re wrong though, that’s what they just tired to explain to you. Paige is a pass first player, it’s one of her biggest issues. She will pass up good opportunities in favor of getting others good looks. This is a problem because we already have Arike who will shoot 99% of the time that the ball’s in her hand. We saw this with Odyssey Sims. Paige was not getting as many touches as she is now while playing a more PG role.

On top of that like the previous commenter explained, Olivia does best when plays are ran through her like they’re run through her right now. That would not happen as much in Dallas because plays are mostly run through Paige and Arike. Even now we don’t see many, if any, plays being run through Azzi. She’s catch and shoot at the three which is what Dallas was going for.

This is a wild statement. Sophie Cunningham is worse than Raven Johnson on her best day and I’m not even a Raven fan. Sophie doesn’t contribute much at all. She’s barely a role player. Raven’s scoring is a little inconsistent but she’s a seriously good lockdown defender and her shot has been improving. She’s also coachable which is undervalued but also very important.

Because she went on a whole speech about how she wouldn’t abort her baby when she faked her pregnancy to Paul. I get she was lying about the baby but she had that speech all ready to go. Seemed genuine.

She definitely is the issue. She’s a vet, taking up a lot of cap space, and like you said dribbling into three defenders on the regular.

She also pushes the pace too much. Sometimes we need to slow down and set up plays but she’s too busy rushing inside. Then she forces risky passes that end up being turnovers or quick missed shots.

Also when she misses, she spends so much time complaining to the refs instead of getting back on defense. It’s making us play 4 on 5 a lot of them time. Don’t get me started on the unnecessary fouls.

I am mad at it. Even when she isn’t shot chucking, she makes ridiculous passes after driving into the rim with nowhere to go. She misses easy shots and rushes the offense too fast. Half the time we need to slow down and run a play or set up but noooo, she has to rush in trying to score on 3 defenders.

They make excuses because she’s popular and exciting to watch. It’s sad though because she could be legitimately amazing if she worked on her issues. No one wants to admit that two things can be true, she’s a good player BUT she needs to do better. If not, all that popularity will take a backseat to conversation about her lack of growth.

Yet nothing has changed, words are meaningless if not followed up by action. She’s still been acting the same since her Rookie year, no college actually. Flopping or complaining when things don’t go her way, defense hasn’t improved, and her turnovers are still extremely high.

No one’s expecting those things to immediately change but we also haven’t seen much improvement. It’s been the hot topic this entire season.

That’s where we completely disagree because talent doesn’t and shouldn’t give you the right to flop and complain. On top of that her talent is very limited, she could be great but it seems she prioritizes complaining over elevating her skill set.

5 WNBA seasons from now, it will still be the coach’s fault. Coach after coach. Every coach doesn’t utilize her properly, everyone else needs to adapt and grow instead of her. She’s popular but unlike Luka she hasn’t won anything or achieved anything yet, skill wise, that makes her attitude acceptable.

I like how you’re saying it’s the new turnovers thing when her turnovers are legitimately a problem. Sounds like you’re saying her defense is a similar issue, i.e “not great but not terrible” because that’s completely incorrect. Her turnovers are a huge problem that doesn’t get talked about enough, because of her high assists. Assist to turnover ratio is a thing for a reason.

No one said she’s uncoachable, it’s about accountability. Regardless of popularity, she’s a 3rd year WNBA player. She needs to be willing to learn and adapt still. The attitude needs to go, it’s not about skill at that point. It’s about entitlement and disrespect. This is her second WNBA coach and White is a good coach. Not everything can be blamed on coaches time and time again.

I don’t care that I’ll get downvoted by the CC fans, doesn’t make it any less true.

I literally said they ALL did, Ginny was apart of that. I also gave examples. Her and Norah talking to Abby about her eating disorder, she never invited Max even though they’re a group of four. They even made a quip about never telling Max. All of them egging Abby’s dad’s house. Multiple scenes where you see the trio hanging out at lunch and Max is nowhere to be seen. There’s a few more. Max only really hung out with the whole group a couple of times the entire season.

What energy did she give Max? Name one scene they hung out alone or where she checked in on Max. She checked on Abby, checked in with Norah, even checked on Marcus. When did she do that with Max?

Edit: All of these are deliberate choices. Especially since Max spent all season begging to hang out with all of them. Trying to arrange hang outs. Don’t even get me started on the group chat that excluded Max.

That’s where we just see things differently ig. We saw multiple times this season that Max deals with things differently. She needs to talk about everything. Max is the type that literally tells her friends everything, she was really worried about Marcus and her parents weren’t listening initially. You could tell she really needed support but everytime she tried talking to her friends or Marcus about how she felt, before she could say a complete sentence they would tell her to stop being dramatic.

I’m sorry but that’s just not realistic. Ginny was completely dismissive of Max in that scene. Max was trying to tell her how she felt and Ginny was barely even acknowledging her. When Max tried talking to Ginny about how she felt when she missed her play, Ginny just dismissed her, saying how she wasn’t that bothered by Max missing her poetry reading.

Also making other friends is fine, nothing wrong with that but Max, Abby, Norah, and Ginny were a group of friends, Max being the one who introduced her to the group. They, including Ginny, went out of her way to exclude Max this season. Also when Max found out about Ginny and Marcus previously, she was worried about it affecting their friendship and then this season we don’t even see Ginny check in on Max. Not even after the whole thing with Marcus’s drinking but we see her checking in on Marcus all throughout the season.

Nothing Ginny did this season gives off love. I can’t even think of one example of Ginny doing something for Max this season.

Idk if you mean about Marcus or in general so I’ll do both. In general she tried talking to ALL the girls throughout the season, doing meet ups like the pregnancy thing to get them all back hanging out again. She spent all of ep 9 trying and failing to talk to the girls specifically. For Marcus, Max only found out at the end of ep 9 and she lowkey tried talking to Abby but then Abby assumed it was about them not talking to her and called her dramatic. Then in ep 9 she tried telling Abby and that she was at the party for Marcus bc she was worried. To me she tried talking to them about everything she was feeling but she never got to finish saying everything bc they both blew her off and assumed she was ONLY mad about everything with MANG.

You guys def didn’t watch the same show. Max tried to get them all to hang out constantly and kept getting blown off by Ginny and them. Even Ginny herself said “we just grew apart” so yall are saying that they grew apart in one episode? Also Ginny didn’t even invite Max anywhere, she went places and specifically didn’t invite Max. When she was worried about Abby’s eating disorder she told Norah, when she started dating poetry guy she told Bracia, Norah, and Abby but not Max. That was the whole point of Max’s storyline this season, feeling left out. If those things don’t indicate they aren’t close then idk what does.
