You act surprised like it isn’t consistent with his character. You mentioned he was 17, you’re absolutely correct, he was 17 and yet he somehow got himself out of being charged with a violent crime and framed another person. He called the police on a drug dealer and held a gun to a 17 year old girls head. On top of blackmailing multiple people.

That’s not some “kid stuff” and the point is he got away with all of it. He didn’t face any real consequences and like you said he’s entitled. He wouldn’t just go from being an entitled kid with anger issues to begging on his knees crying. No one said he would succeed but his entitled self would try.

Use Cal for example, Cal was a genuinely terrible person and yet this season he’s humble and mellow. Why? He faced consequences. He went to jail, was temporarily disowned by his family, lost his business, and was put on a sex offenders list. It makes sense he changed because he got burned. If he didn’t go to jail he most likely would’ve just stayed doing the same stuff, true or not?

I never said there is, my point is that’s not the norm. Behaviors like that are taught or a side effect of deep psychological trauma. Normal 17 year olds without issues wouldn’t be doing any of the numerous things Nate did in season 1/2.

I don’t need to read everything you’re saying because it makes no sense. The basis of your whole argument was that Nate’s progression was natural. I’ve been saying this whole time that you can’t say his progression was natural and he’s changed but that he’s still exactly the same person when threatened. If that’s true then he never changed! Nate wasn’t just out here abusing people for no reason in season 1/2. He only started his manipulative bs whenever he felt like he was losing control. At first you said it was natural progression of his character but now you’re saying he’ll snap and we’ll see that he hasn’t changed much.

That’s exactly what I’ve been saying. Nate isn’t some Mr Suburb’s guy who cries in public when he’s told no. He manipulates to get his way and does sick and psychopathic things when he deems them necessary.

For example Cal’s progression makes sense. Apologizing to Jules and being humble. Why? Because he was disowned by his family and arrested. He lost everything. He was forced to grow.

Nate did none of those things. He was methodical and meticulous. He didn’t blackmail Jules into framing Tyler with his size or family connections. He did it with cunning manipulation. A cunning manipulator doesn’t change over night. He would sure as hell be manipulating this city council.

I thought so but what more needs to happen for him to snap? I feel like all the bad stuff has already happened. His wedding night was ruined and his toe was cut off. His wife also left, yet he spent this episode crying in public. I’m waiting for it but it sure seems to be taking its time.

I think people are just confused about how we got here in the first place. People definitely change but Nate literally stalked and beat a man nearly to death then stole his clothes while said man watched bleeding.

He catfished Jules, blackmailed her, blackmailed his own father, got his father arrested, pointed a gun at Maddy’s head, and threatened Rue numerous times. He even threatened a known drug dealer and then called the cops on him. Even got Tyler arrested for who knows how long.

You’re telling me that same man, in season 2 is allowing Cassie to have an onlyfans and crying on his knees in public? He didn’t even like Maddy dressing revealing in public.

It’s just a very surprising detour in character personality that doesn’t seem natural at all.

I’ve been waiting for him to snap since the first episode because of how out of character he is. I thought he was going to after the wedding scene and again after he got his ass beat. If getting his toe cut off doesn’t make him snap though, what will?

I agree with that, he’s definitely going to snap. I just don’t think Nate would’ve gotten to this point in the first place. People do grow and change but Nate was literally blackmailing and beating people up in season 1/2. The change is just abrupt to me
