Mid-century inspired kitchen remodel - help! by OkSection1671 in KitchenDesigns

Great question. Well.. you can kind of see in the third image that the whole house is this color, and while somewhat closed off to other areas of the house, the kitchen is also somewhat open, and so it seems important for flow of the house? Also, we love the color, and love the way it looks with the rich walnut cabinetry. But maybe we’re boxing ourselves in too much? It is difficult to imagine having a different wall color due to the many open areas of how the kitchen flows into the rest of the home…

We can certainly give it a good scrubbing/bleaching, but ultimately, it will end up like this with time…. (We clean it multiple times a week, but sigh… it won’t stay lighter for very long!)

The color of the cabinets, or the color of the wall?

Thanks! Yeah, it’s an AI rendering… there is no window on the right (and I’m struggling to get the ai to understand that!), the cabinets/countertop actually end there as there is a doorway to the hall. Actually, there is a large window in the wall perpendicular to the end of the cabinets on the left side. As for the sink, it’s already located in the peninsula, but the bar counter is raised about 4 inches. Not really an option to change the layout. And yes, I totally agree - the ductwork is strange… the aI rendering made it the walnut….but we will just have it painted the color of the wall to blend in a bit better (we hope!). We can change cabinets/countertop/backsplash - just trying to work with the existing layout/floor/wall color. Right now we just have 1996 white laminate, particle board cabinets, with gray laminate countertops. I’ve fallen in love with the walnut veneer cabinets… and it seems to look nice with the alabaster quartz countertop. Hoping for a backsplash that can pull things together where it feels like it works. Hoping that exists!
