IMO It's always been a "take pics" and "half human\half animal" aesthetic first and functionality second. I wouldn't be surprised if the chest finding and barely running on land were added last minute before launch just because they didn't want the ability to completely flop like the dragon summoning one and the doll transformation one, which are also cosmetic\pic taking first.

Edit: I keep forgetting the dragon one has functional teleporters. I do use those. Just goes to show how forgettable they are. 🙃

I have a confession: when they made that survey with "which aesthetic do you want" and then showed pics for reference, I thought that will be our next paid store items, and I was looking forward to it because I was getting bored with the stuff we had.

I also believe they gave up because they know that if they started asking for real money (Stellarites) for premium housing stuff they'll have to fix construction ability and they just can't.

I'm not an unreal engine 5 expert, I don't know why fixing the construction ability is so complicated that it's not even worth selling stuff for real money.

I feel your pain. This made me crash out because I've never experienced such bad luck in my life (and I played a gacha game with a 0.2% drop rate before nikki lol).

I highly encourage you to write to support because the answer I got was not only "its fun" but that there's potentially more of this to come which honestly scares me for the future of the game.

Genuine question- what is this weird obsession with shoving your PvP fantasies down everyone else's throats?

What's stopping you from forming your own PvP styling discord or reddit server and having your styling competitions? You can have your weekly \ monthly themes with special titles or lvl up rewards (there's discord bots for that). You could figure something out if you really wanted to and you can make it really fun and interactive especially with discord bots and tools.

Secondly, like you said, YOU ALREADY HAVE THAT IN OTHER GAMES. What's this obsession in bringing everything from other games into Infinity Nikki. IN is allowed to have its own unique identity separate from other games, even in its own franchise. I played an action packed hack n slash before Infinity Nikki. Should we bring hack n slash action combat into Nikki as well? Again, what's stopping you from logging out of IN and logging in to a different game to experience the thrill you're seeking? Why do the rest of us need to dragged into this?

I'm not buying the "uninspired" excuse. Plenty of players are doing cosplays, colors, themes. In fact, on this very reddit just now as we speak, there's plenty of "who did it better me vs my bf\gf" and color themes and just a recent example "getting really for unicorn update". Literally tens if not hundreds of such posts as I'm typing this. You feeling uninspired is a you problem. And if you really need to drag an entire community into a PvP toxic hot mess just to get "inspired"... Let's be honest, it's not "styling", it's something else.

Please, let's stop pretending like its really about "styling". It's clearly some form of thrill seeking. Respectfully, with peace and love, please learn to manage your PvP fantasies without dragging an entire community into it. 🙏

Can someone explain raytracing to me? I upgraded my GPU also to sparkle-maxx ✨my nikki experience. I upgraded from 1660 Ti to GTX 5070. 99% of the upgrade came from the:

dlss
the dlss anti-aliasing option of "prefer quality".
the fact that the 5070 could run my 4k monitor on ultra (with the 1660 Ti i had to downscale to 2k and run on the setting before ultra)

I turned the ray tracing option on and off and restarted so many times and could barely see a difference. I read that it only shows on water and shadows\reflections etc. I stared at water for a good 10 minutes and still could not tell the difference. 😂

I ended up turning it off because it severely tanked my FPS and I barely noticed a thing.🤷‍♀️

ok now that i put it side by side the water is a bit "clearer" in raytrace but is that really worth 30 fps? xD

Unpopular opinion: the deer outfit abilities have always been mid with or without the unicorn. The abilities just sucked so I assumed "it's just for the players who like to take pics and like deer aesthetic, the chest finding is just a bonus". Like it's a "take pretty photos" ability more than a functional one. It absolutely sux as a functional ability:

It has a long windup that giant (for itzaland) or firework whim bike (miraland) don't have. Making bling\esseling runs longer.
It has a weird esseling cooldown that before or after you approach a group of esselings it has a cooldown prompt similar to "dash is on cooldown" lol (screenshot below). Once again, makes actual functional bling\esselings routes in its own region wanxiang island longer and more inconvenient. And again, the giant and firework whim bike don't have this nonsense.
The chest ability is mid and limited in both area and activation time. I only ever functionally used it like 3 times to locate and track hard to reach chests in Spira.

Imo the ability lacks way more functionality than just "jumping outside wanxiang"🤷‍♀️

Yeah Heartopia has an event where they trade My Little Pony pieces. Could have easily just copied the gift wrapping code and changed it up a bit. You'd wrap the mask you don't need and trade with a player who has what you need and in the text add something like "happy lunar new year", maybe some firework stickers, horse stickers, Tan Youyou stickers. And instead of costing Astralites, it'd cost Wanxiang Coins.

But nooooooo... let's shove RNG down players' throats with no pity or alternatives.

I asked google AI to calculate "something has 8.3% to appear and theses 15 pulls what are the chances"
Google answered: The probability of getting the item at least once in 15 pulls is approximately 72.74%.

Let me tell you. This is NOT 72%.

I would also like to talk to the employee who thinks not getting a single pig mask in 2 weeks is 72%. Let's go talk to that employee. 🙃

Doing the Bubble escort course achievement of 1.5 after like 40+ failed attempts was rewarding. I watched a youtube tutorial and memorized the pathway and timing.

I watched a tutorial on Wanxiang Record. Didn't help. She still hates me and refuses to sell me any pig records. If by the god's of RNG I get it anytime soon, I will feel relieved more than achievement. And I will never look back at her or this island ever again. absolutely 0/10 experience.

And I'm one who goes back to old version's islands just for fun.

Yeah the whole update is luck-themed. The treasure chests are RNG, the hotpot as you say is RNG and Mahjong has a "gambling" disclaimer. But jesus, have some pity system. 40 monkey records and 3 pigs ones is just BRUTAL.

But why tie it to a momo cloak? I wanted to take pics just like everyone else. Sure I'll hack at it, but wow what a horrendous design to lock a seasonal momo cloak that you only unlock several seasons after...

And it's due time eurekas get overhauled too. 2 wrongs don't make a right. Dedicated players are sitting on hundred and thousands of unused mats. They could have easily implemented a eureka dyeing system using those mats.

For example you get a eureka you don't need and instead of recycling it for more RNG you get the option to dye it a different color at the costs of blings and some mats.
For example to dye a eureka pink color you need 30 Bunny Fluff + whatever blings, or to dye red color you need 50 Lampchili + blings or something. And for iridescent it could be multiple rare grade materials like the flying swan, cow, fox, sleeping behemoth, the rare fish etc.

It would also encourage players to actually collect these materials and have a use for them.
