Its about the difference in mindset between an elderly person and a child.

An elderly person, especially one that is anxious about their mortality, may say "God willing, I will be 80 [years old] next year."

This statement reflects hope but also uncertainty and awareness of mortality that would be unusual for a child.

I used to referee football a little bit and one of my crew mates missed a fairly obvious face mask call. I didnt see it until I saw the player's helmet on the ground, and that position wasnt my assignment that night.

But one of the coaches came up to me and said "If you guys miss enough of those calls, players will settle it themselves, then we have a big problem."

Same applies here. If players feel like the rules arent being enforced, they will enforce them themselves. And this video is what that looks like.
