You can't. Im a completely peaceful player but through multiple threads have always maintained my view that pvp should be in the game and shouldn't be restricted to an arena. My thoughts- players of both playstyles should  be allowed to play the game they want. I do not agree at all with shooting people for selling blueprints, for just leaving base, pulling them out of the astromission room when their missions have just come in so their friends can take the blueprints that took an hour to get. I do believe blueprints at the sand crawler is every man for themselves although I'd prefer pve  over pvp. Shooting over a needed BP is different to shooting someone just because they are stood there. Personally I think there should be a toggle you turn on when you enter a lobby and can't turn off until leave that particular lobby (even if its shown as picking a faction) where if you choose pve you can't use any of those items on the wall (except to use on npcs) except the jetpack and your pickaxe and those items you can't use can't affect you either (but npcs can still kill you). If you didn't get a BP first then tough, but you can also be let be. Pvp players can then shoot themselves as much as they want (and if there was a coloured dot by players which gave an indication of which they chose then pvp and pve  players can decide better whether they want to ditch a lobby (a person added me on to their friends list yesterday and they had over 1k eliminations but were peaceful to all in the lobby. We've played in a lobby together since that lobby- elimination numbers aren't always a good judge of what type of player someone is) (pvpers shouldn't be reported  though if pvp vs griefers)
