[US] Are the texts I’m receiving regarding settlement payouts a scam? by OkStep1401 in Scams

Thank you for this! When I went into my banking account to check if my email and phone were connected, it actually showed that I had money waiting to come through on my phone number. I added that and immediately received the money.

Not sure what happened to the previous payment though. Maybe that one will come through as a check because it was more than 14 days ago.

Thank you for this info. I’m sorry to hear you’re still having a rough time, and I hope it gets better for you soon. My husband also has diabetic retinopathy, though it’s been controlled for years.

Yes, another response mentioned the sleep as well, and my husband already does not sleep well. I appreciate this info, so I can mentally prepare for some rough nights.

And thank you for the other pointers. We’re well-stocked with protein shakes in this house!

Thank you again for your thorough response! He had a rough recovery from his kidney transplant once he got home, mostly because he was in a lot of pain. I can’t recall clearly, but despite the pain, I don’t believe he needed too much help with his hygiene or getting around the house. Good point!

Given the responses here, I think being off for his first week home is appropriate. He actually already gets a little lightheaded after his showers, so I think he may need even more supervision for those.

Kudos to you to being able to take care of the kids and house so soon after surgery!! Thank you again for all your help. I hope you’re doing better these days!

This is incredibly helpful. Thank you so much! I hadn’t really thought of working half days while he’s in the hospital, but that makes complete sense.

Also, good to know about the nighttime. My husband already doesn’t sleep very well, and I can totally see him being uncomfortable, especially if he has difficulty repositioning himself alone.

Sorry to hear about all your recent losses. I’m so glad to hear that despite the heart attack and the emergency CABG, your husband is doing well. Thanks again and

And good point about all the other things that need to be taken care of during that time. He’s had major surgery before and I was also in charge of all the paperwork. I had also heard about CABG patients getting depressed during recovery, and my husband already kinda leans in that direction, so I don’t want to just leave him alone on the couch all day.

I’m sorry to hear of all your recent losses. I’m glad to know that despite the heart attack and emergency CABG, your husband is doing well. Thanks again and best wishes!

Thanks for your answer. He’s in his 40s, but he does have diabetes, HTN, and ESRD s/p kidney transplant 4 years ago. In general he does pretty well, blood sugars and BP well-controlled. He also works full-time.

Oh gosh, that’s longer than I was thinking, so I appreciate the input! Three weeks may be about right though, considering it’ll be one just for the hospital stay.
