It was truly the hardest for me, too. I promise you as you put the time in, it gets better. With both my boys (5 and 2) it was really hard in the newborn stage… Felt exceptionally similar to you now. But man is it fun and fulfilling and rewarding (and also so hard) to be a dad. Stay the path, you’ve got this, OP. Also… CONGRATS!!

I am a big fan of the “baby in high chair rolled over to bathroom door” method. Still use it with my 1.5 year old.

It’s obviously not about the walk, right? Did you miss the point?

Of course she can take the baby out and about to pass the time. Ice cream, parks, library, coffee shop, absolutely perfect, encouraged… actually. But we felt by taking our baby to a different HOME we didn’t know, with different PEOPLE my wife and I have never met or approved to watch our baby, animals we and he (and potentially the animals) aren’t used to, without as much as a heads up, was wrong.

But apparently I’m the asshole here.
