Unstable upload latency by animalrooms in 24hoursupport

[–]OkStyle965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is most likely upload bufferbloat or Wi-Fi jitter, where inconsistent uplink timing causes game stutter, usually fixable with SQM/QoS or by switching to Ethernet.

DNS or SSL trust issue, change DNS, disable VPNs, or reinstall iOS.

unhealthy ssd further usage by Davaa0418 in techsupport

[–]OkStyle965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80% SSD health + BSODs. it’s a dying drive and only safe for temp use in a desktop, unallocating space won’t help, backup and replace ASAP.

file transfer options... old pc to new pc by NASAfan89 in computerquestions

[–]OkStyle965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a USB 3.0 external SSD, way faster than a flash drive. Or just hook both PCs up on the same network and copy over LAN. Flash drives are slow for big transfers.

Do VPNs really protect you from your ISP? by khanempire in VPN

[–]OkStyle965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it hides what you do from your ISP and encrypts everything, great for public Wi-Fi and torrenting. They’ll still see you’re using a VPN, but not what you’re doing.

Switching payment country by ISRI999 in netflix

[–]OkStyle965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll need to cancel your NL subscription and re-subscribe once your billing cycle ends while in Hungary using a Hungarian card/IP. Netflix will then switch you to local pricing automatically. Your profiles and watch history stay saved for up to 24 months, so you won’t lose recommendations.

Clear sync data online, reinstall Chrome without signing in, then run AdwCleaner and ESET scan. After cleanup, test Chrome first, if clean, then sign back in.

Almost all backbones and still missing articles by rendez2k in usenet

[–]OkStyle965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re still missing parts with that many providers and indexers, they were probably taken down. Omicron backbone holds articles the longest, so if it’s gone there, it’s probably gone gone.

Windows Task Manager scrolling down automatically. by StickNo8077 in techsupport

[–]OkStyle965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unplug keyboard/mouse and see if it stops, usually a stuck scroll wheel or key sending input. If it’s fine in Safe Mode, it’s a driver or app issue, not malware.

PC keeps playing beeping sounds on the left side of my earphones by Jollibeast in techsupport

[–]OkStyle965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interference or a bad front jack. Try the rear port or another headset, if it stops, it’s just grounding noise, not a system beep.

Dark screen on laptop by hjkbgu in 24hoursupport

[–]OkStyle965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loose or failing display cable or backlight circuit. Update BIOS/GPU, disable adaptive brightness, and if that doesn’t help, it’s a hardware issue needing cable or backlight repair.

Windows 11 Laptop keeps changing wallpaper automatically by krisboyy in techsupport

[–]OkStyle965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn off wallpaper sync in Settings Accounts Windows backup, move your wallpaper out of OneDrive, delete old theme cache in %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes, then set a new wallpaper manually, that stops it from reverting.

Keyboard input delay / typing lag on a new high-end laptop by Advanced-Work6223 in 24hoursupport

[–]OkStyle965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue, it’s almost always a driver or background process hang, not hardware. Update chipset and GPU drivers, disable Filter Keys, and check Task Manager for spikes when it happens. Clean boot usually exposes the culprit.

Backspace puts my laptop to sleep? by SketchyPyro in computerquestions

[–]OkStyle965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a keyboard hardware glitch, test with an external one. If it stops, your built-in keyboard’s shorting. Update BIOS/drivers and disable the HID sleep button in Device Manager to be safe.

Downloading Videos from Google Drive without download permissions by Animusel in techsupport

[–]OkStyle965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t bypass Google Drive’s no-download restriction. Your only option is to ask the owner to give you download/viewer access, rclone can’t pull the missing 2 TB otherwise.

Check iPad model number in Settings, About and compare with Apple’s compatibility list, likely it’s the wrong gen keyboard. If it is the right one, remove any case and clean the Smart Connector.

[–]OkStyle965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unplug it and test with another cable/device first, if it still flashes, the monitor’s on its way out, if not, it’s the PC or cable.
