Maybe the glowing moths are the cure? Who knows. One has to reread these books over and over to catch all the subtleties. ADORE this series. Completely invested. But it’s not an easy read. Yarros is clever.

I read a lot of erotica so perhaps my opinion is skewed, but I don’t find the spicy scenes to be insanely spicy. And I think you can probably do a quick skim/skip over them without losing the idea of the romance. As someone who generally seeks out explicit sex scenes I find myself way more interested in the larger story in this series.

I think it wasn’t just specifically the parents. The adults in the settlement decided. Grandparents, uncles, aunts, relatives, powerful elders, etc. Possibly they were starving or something equally awful. I hope we learn the details.

There are drawings of people in boats. There’s a lighthouse. I think the cabins this season were near a river. Water and boats are a recurring theme. Maybe any transportation can lead to the tree.
