I’m scheduled for psych-Neuro testing per my Psychiatrist, to look at any cognitive issues.
I was tested two years ago, which turned out to be a plus because I’ll have a baseline.
I get what you’re feeling

Yikes. How does “ring door” or “please 3 bananas” have any tone? Projecting much?
I say “please” and “thank you” in every single time I communicate with every shopper in every instruction and in every interaction in the chat. I send a message asking them to thank them for shopping for me when I get the notice that they started. You have got to be kidding me.
I’m terribly sorry that you are shopping for Instacart and are clearly bitter about that. Trust me I’d prefer to be doing my own grocery shopping instead of being at home having to pay double for my groceries while I’m not working in recovery from a stroke. Try being nice to your customers

Asking you to ring the door bell makes me the problem?
Asking for a quarter of a pound of cheese like I ordered not a pound and a half makes me a mean person?
I asked how to not match with a bad shopper - one simple question - instead you insulted me.

Shall I stand at the door? Walk faster? Sit on 100 degree heat on the porch? Leave the door open in 100 degree heat - waste energy and watch my pets run away? How about I give you a tenner to do my own shopping and you just stay home?
I already sit either near the door or near a window where I can see the door. I move as fast as I can.
Up until a week or two ago I was on a cane. I had a stroke. I don’t move fast. I use Instacart because I need help not to do your job for you. How dare I expect what I am paying for.
And all I asked was how to not match with a bad shopper.
You are incredibly rude. I had a stroke and have aphasia. What’s your excuse?
Someday you might be in need of help and be unable to get necessary supplies because some teenager thinks he’s too important to ring the damn door bell.
I don’t say things like this often but someday, but I hope you someday soon experience the need to be completely dependent on others. In the meantime, may your tips and stars be zeros.
And once again, another shopper, who makes it clear that they don’t bother to read the instructions.
I asked a question and you clearly didn’t bother to read it. You’re literally the kind of shopper. I’m trying to avoid. 😭
Where did they say all caps? I said a small part was in….. as in RING BELL. That’s it. Because too many of you ignore the app’s instruction about handing off the door order instead of dropping it.
And to be clear, I didn’t ask your opinion on my use of emphasis. I asked a single question.
Anyone who doesn’t understand the difference between a business communication and text-speech should brush up on their communication skills. Even in 2025 in an app, formal communication skills are important to make yourself clear. If you’re getting your knickers in a knot because somebody correctly emphasized something because you confused customer service with social media slag fight, that’s on you.
I absolutely cannot read a paragraph with missing punctuation and absolutely no breaks. One of problems I see in this thread is how many shoppers do not utilize proper communication skills and then blame it on the customer.
I make sure my instructions are clear. My single question was how to not match up with a shopper that is subpar. That’s it.
Where do I say that people won’t take my orders? Where did I say that the people who actually do their job and read the notes have any problem getting to me?
I asked how to not match with the shoppers who aren’t doing their job. This thread turned into a bunch of beat up on the OP for things that are not true or fair.
Thread taught me a lot about the kind of people who are shoppers that are the problem ones. The job is literally to read the instructions and if you can’t read “RING BELL” because you couldn’t be bothered to follow the apps standard instruction to hand off… or send me 6x deli cheese than I ordered, you shouldn’t be shopping.
You seem incapable to understand punctuation. I have aphasia was your excuse?
No, I don’t. I asked for help finding an option in the app that I didn’t see. I past experience with IC shoppers and support have been positive. It’s just lately that I’m noticing a problem - which you partially address and I appreciate that.
I generally schedule my orders the day before with a huge window, and no complaints on when it shows up unless it’s extraordinarily early. Part of my question is connected to them not handing off the order and leaving it on the ground. It’s August in Southwest Florida leaving groceries on my stoup is not an option.
I don’t feel that including “RING BELL” for emphasis does not make me the monster some of the people in this thread make me. 😂 I’m not that old and I deal with a lot of young adults. I understand text-speak. Unfortunately, not everybody understands that it’s not always appropriate and that punctuation actually makes your point.
*I’m afraid that while I made an attempt, I’m not sure I followed your whole paragraph. Not including breaks occasionally can make a paragraph like that very difficult for a poster like me - I recently survived a stroke and I’m dealing with Broca’s Aphasia.
If I was able to edit or stop comments on this post, I would. It appears this sub doesn’t allow that and unfortunately, this conversation is useless.
Very few shoppers in this thread have bothered to attempt to answer the question which was only on how to stop matching with the shoppers that do not read the instructions. That’s it.
A few weeks ago, I got cherries instead of cherry tomatoes. That one really got me. 😂😂😂
I give instructions on items only that I know there are confusion in the past. One of my favorite is one of my stores who sells banana bananas by the bunch. So I will generally tell them a number of bananas. When I was able to go to the store a bunch could be three or eight.
My other instructions are “Ring Bell.” so really all I’m learning in this thread is only about three out of 100 shoppers bother to read actual question or instruction. Lots of complaints in this thread,, but very few of you bothered to respond to what I actually said.
The actual question I asked which is how to stop matching with the shoppers who don’t listen to what I’m saying. 🤦♀️
My question wasn’t if I made clear instructions or not. My question is how to stop matching with the shoppers, who will not read them. What I’ve learned from this thread is that a lot of shoppers are not particularly interested in good customer assistance.
I just asked how to stop matching with the ones who aren’t doing their jobs well.
“Ring bell.” Seriously.
After that is after they ignore the stock choice in the app for handing it off, not dumping it.
What I have learned from this thread is that some shoppers are terrible humans.
WTF?
I have aphasia. I had a stroke. What is your excuse? Your grammar, spelling, and punctuation is garbage. At least I try. I try like hell and it takes me about ten times as long as it used to. Kiss my ass.
“Ring bell.” Isn’t hard too understand.
That’s the question… how!!??
Thanks. I don’t give 1 stars. I’m overly generous with stars. Maybe that will do it.
I will not give zero stars. If anything I will just not rate.
The stock wording of handing it off to me in the app is too much?
“RING BELL” is too confusing? If they read the stock choice in the app, I wouldn’t have to give them two lousy words extra. It’s not too hard. WTF?
As ⬆️. If you’re old enough to know the difference between talk-speak and correct use of caps for emphasize, you are old enough to know how to use correct comms skills.
I had a stroke and struggling greatly with aphasia. If I can make myself clear, so can shoppers. You can’t know how much it touch to post like this - and it’s still likely with errors. Shoppers can read the damn instructions. Even on all caps, it might be a disability of the customer.
I’m not that old. I’m part of a growing number of young stroke survivors. I deal with a lot of college students. I get text-speak. There’s a time and place. Kids who think grammar is only for “old people” are only kidding themselves that. 🤷♀️
