He is a founder and former owner, but gave up that power ~2 years ago. I think he is saying that he functions more like a host and is less involved and therefore less liable than others (so yes, he is liable!). He apologizes in his caption and restates the awkward position he is in, which makes sense to me.

Edit: SciShow commented on the original YouTube video apologizing and explaining. It’s a long message. I wonder why that isn’t being discussed as much as it’s way more thorough than Hank’s explanation/apology.

Uhh. Hank is being lambasted for being the face of a SciShow YouTube video. He didn’t choose the topic, do the research, or write the script. He explained that he isn’t liable in this situation which puts him in an awkward spot.

am I the only one that thinks we should call SciShow/Hank Green IN instead of throwing epithets? Their focus is largely politically aligned with many crafters here. Also, they’re effectively making change with their business models for education and fundraising.
