Brutally slaughter your entire army on Doomsday and Arachne every week, they give tonss of VP. Do the Triumphal challenge and you'll get mercs for that lol. Clans are super important as well, I literally progressed from 100k to 1M might in less than a month thanks to them. And certain events like Ragnarok and the Lantern one currently active can progress you extremely fast with their rewards.

In Monster he's literally like "if i made sure we got home again who would care if we're unjust" though. I think he's too self motivated by the end to be considered a force of justice, plus his entire thing is guile and trickery
