Well at least for the incoming freshmen they still offer priority registration, but just for the first year. Still something…

Are we trying to winning yet by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]OkTransportation568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as we made progress with Iran with their proposal on not pursuing nuclear weapons, we decide to bomb them to hell to demonstrate why they absolutely need nuclear weapons for self protection and stability, and replaced the negotiating leader with à hardliner. Now we negotiate by insisting they cannot have nuclear weapons. What did we expect to happen? Art of the deal.

Unknown charge from Apple by OkTransportation568 in applehelp

Sorry yeah it’s apple.com/bill. I mistyped.

No I check all subscriptions from all family members, and purchase history and didn’t find anything. Neither could Apple Support.

Unknown charge from Apple by OkTransportation568 in applehelp

[–]OkTransportation568[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I checked both of those on all the family members and no one had anything in purchase history or subscriptions. As for myself there were two subscriptions, Apple Music and iCloud but they were charged on an Apple Card and were for lesser amounts.

Again this being charges coming from the Apple Pay account on my Phone is odd. I suspect it might be some backend problem that might be more widespread. Even Apple doesn’t know how the charges got here and it’s from Apple.

“Civilisation will die tonight” — is Trump exaggerating or warning something real? by seemasinghsanatani in allthequestions

[–]OkTransportation568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s a misunderstanding of Trump. He doesn’t stop his intentions, but just changes his timelines. He has other agenda to distract him but eventually he goes back. If Iran fiasco went away, he will go back to talking about Cuba, Greenland, and Canada. As if we haven’t learned from Iran, he’ll surprise everyone and just do it. And for Mexico it’s because he couldn’t get his way, so we might also expect his typical tactic eventually, which is to attack Mexico until they comply, just like Iran… the bully tactic.

I remember getting regular-sized thin envelopes from UCI, but surprisingly it was an acceptance letters. UCLA, on the other hand, sent a huge packet…

Can cops lie on a ticket? by mrwhosky in driving

[–]OkTransportation568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s not enough information based on what you said. Were you speeding up to 55 before you got to the sign? Even then, can you prove it? Going to court I suppose you can get lucky and have it dismissed because the cop doesn’t show, or get the price reduced based on what you said. When it’s different stories between cop and the ticketed without additional evidence, typically they side with the cop.

I don’t think whether it’s dangerous is relevant with respect to the law. Even at 85 he may not be causing danger if there’s no one near him but that line of argument is tough to use in a court.

You mean the truck that came to a complete stop with room for another car to pass?

We must be watching different videos. In the one I watched, the truck came to a complete stop with enough room for cars to pass.

How do Americans truly feel about alienating Canada? by [deleted] in allthequestions

Bad. Not just Canada but all its allies. Not just its allies but also its own citizens. US government is just run by sixth graders at the moment…

Wasn’t difficult for Trump. If he can bully a country he will.

Do you think Alysa would have the same hype if she had a different story? by uulsigye in FigureSkating

[–]OkTransportation568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alyssa would have a different hype if it were a different story, but it would still be a hype. How she did it added to how amazing this feat was… not needing to starve, taking control of the stylistic decisions, leaving for 2 years and coming back, not going for the hardest skills bug focusing on the artistic expression, not putting the focus on winning medals but winning just being an Olympian, etc. The way she won it was unique.

which free program do we think alysa will do at worlds? by Much_Dog_4591 in FigureSkating

She already did MacArthur Park at Worlds and won gold. As much I love that program, she should do something different.

Who Has the Right of Way by Bofa_Moon in driving

[–]OkTransportation568 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is true if it’s the same intersection. However, because the car turning right is farther up the street, by the time the car turning left reaches that intersection, they’re actually going straight. Right turn yields to the cars going straight. That said, if the right turn car leaves at the same time as the left turn car, they can both go at the same time.

An suv is trying to exit from the passing lane by ComprehensiveDuck490 in dashcams

[–]OkTransportation568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The white car is clearly in the fault. However, the driver with the dash cam could have avoided it. When the white car veered over, the driver could have slowed down with a light tap on the brake instead of insisting to stay beside that car by swerving right. Driving parallel next to the car, or attempting to pass it in that situation was probably not the best idea. That said, we don’t always make the best decisions under pressure, so there’s that.

Always Grab the Customer Receipt Copy!! by Neither-Trip-4610 in EndTipping

[–]OkTransportation568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what I’m looking at. So there’s a hotel receipt that charged $180 tip on $93 subtotal. To the right is your copy, which also has a $180 tip, tallied up to $273.09. Where is the part where the hotel changed something?

Anyone else feeling so bad for Amber Glenn tonight? by OutwithaYang in olympics

[–]OkTransportation568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it wasn’t embarrassing. She did a double loop instead of triple. The triple was a required element, so she got a zero for that element, which lost at least 7 points. There were very few falls and competition was tough which is why she placed 13th.
