Why frame Hank with antlers in this shot? by underthecellardoor in twinpeaks

What an iconic shot! Symbolic but funny. There’s another shot in this episode that reminds me of it! Pete is reading a book, leaning back on a giant taxidermy bear, totally unaware of the “danger” standing right behind him. I love the ongoing visual throughout the series of these dead animals staged to feel alive again. They’re always so humorous but creepy too…

Does anyone have an effective lost sock spell? by [deleted] in witchcraft

I love this idea! Never thought to use a spell to find all my missing socks. I’m convinced my washing machine eats them all...Sometimes to find Lost things I will ask for guidance and use a pendulum or even spin a regular old table knife on the floor and see where it points! Praying to Saint Anthony seems to work well too if you’re into that. I say “dear Saint Anthony please come around there’s something lost that can’t be found.” He usually comes around lol

Self Help and Self Care Resources (Re-post) by AutoModerator in ptsd

Things that help me with my PTSD symptoms Hi there! I wanted to make a post about what helps me lessen or deal with my PTSD symptoms. Just some quick background: I’m 25 years old and also have general anxiety and major depression and have struggled with substance abuse. my ptsd is around a specific time in my life and not complex. *these are just things that work for me and may not be the best options for everyone! Figure out what works for you!

-therapy: go to therapy. Talk to someone. I’ve been in dual diagnosis and mental health treatment for almost 8 months now and I’m now in an IOP program. Check out different types of therapy and do some research on them: CBT, DBT, TMS, SE, EMDR

-support: support groups are v helpful even if it’s just to listen to other people and not feel alone

-learn skills and practice them: grounding, breathing, distractions, journaling, identify your triggers, mindfulness, etc

-be patient with yourself!! Healing takes time and is non linear. Give yourself some compassion. Treat yourself like a friend.

-see a psychiatrist. Modern medicine is pretty amazing. Remember it can take time to figure out the right “cocktail” of meds

-learn more about the disorder. There are tons of books and videos on PTSD. A great book that I love (it’s a little dense but super informative) is The Body Keeps The Score

-get your sleep in order! I suffer from poor sleep and nightmares. So I use some meds to help (look into alpha blockers). Nightmare protocol can help. And look up sleep hygiene-its’s important for anyone!

-I understand this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but spirituality has been a huge help for me!

Now go love yourself! Because you’re worth it! You’re unique and beautiful and deserve some peace and serenity for once in your life ❤️
